A. Background

The type of diet is very much influenced by the background of the individual's origin or the
beliefs held by a particular society. Although humans are basically omnivores, a group of people
usually has preferences or restrictions on certain types of food. That is why the word "diet"
cannot be generalized as "not eating". The need for nutritional intake is one of the basic needs for
humans to survive. These nutrients must also have complete nutritional requirements to fulfill
someone's complete nutritional needs.

Maybe some of you who have problems having children have tried various ways to speed up
having children. From medical, alternative, herbal, and even food. There are many opinions that
say that eating foods such as bean sprouts, shellfish, garlic, etc. can help nourish the reproductive
system and help speed up having children. Is that true? Or is it just a myth?

According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, it is known that at least 10%
of people in the population experience fertility disorders and it is difficult to have offspring.
They can't control all the factors that can cause infertility or infertility, but they can adjust the
diet and diet that can increase fertility.

2007, Harvard researched the relationship between food and fertility and then published the
"Fertility Diet" or diet to increase fertility. This is motivated by research conducted by the
Nurses' Health Study which involved 238 thousand women aged 30 to 55 years. This research
proves that the food and drink consumed by a person can affect the chance of getting pregnant.
In this study, it was found that a group of women who followed or underwent a fertility diet
could reduce the risk of infertility due to poor egg quality by 66% and a 27% lower risk of
infertility due to other factors.

DISCUSSION

A. Definition of Diet

Different in terms of pronunciation in several countries, in Indonesian, the word diet is more
often intended to refer to an effort to lose weight or regulate the intake of certain nutrients. This
article will discuss diet in a second sense.

In its development, diet in the context of regulating nutritional intake for humans is divided
into several types, namely:

1. Lose Weight (Mass) For example, for models or actresses who want to maintain their
appearance.

2. Increase Weight (Mass) Body for example for sportsmen or athletes who want to increase
bodybuilding muscle mass.

3. Abstinence from certain foods, for example for diabetics (low carbohydrates and sugar).

The definition of diet in an effort to regulate a balanced nutritional intake for the body is the real
context for a healthy diet.

B.Factors that influence a person who does a diet

There are several reasons for a person to go on a diet, the following are the factors that
affect a person on a diet:

1. High Fat Content

If a person's fat levels are high, a diet program is needed to lose weight so that obesity does not
occur. Fat is a nutrient that will be stored in the skin as energy reserves, if a lot of fat is stored,
there can be an increase in body mass, metabolic processes will tend to be more difficult for the
body to do.

2. Self Desire

Diet sometimes has a personal goal to increase or decrease body mass to fit the normal range of
BMI (Body Mass Index). The desire to go on a diet is usually done by models or artists to
maintain their body shape.

3. Blood Pressure

If blood pressure is too high (hypertension), there must be restrictions for certain foods so that
the pressure returns to normal.
4. Diet

Diet is also influenced by diet, if someone has an irregular eating pattern, that person will try to
re-adjust his diet by doing a diet.

5. Disease Disorders

Someone who is affected by disorders such as the gastrointestinal tract, diabetes and others will
go on a diet to maintain nutritional intake so as not to worsen the disorder.

C. A healthy diet to improve offspring

1.Pay attention to the consumption of vegetables and fruit

A study by the Harvard School of Public Health revealed that women experience higher
ovulation abnormalities due to the wrong diet, which is excessive intake of trans fats,
carbohydrates and animal protein. Therefore, experts recommend consumption of vegetables and
fruit."Watermelon and asparagus, in addition to other raw fruit and vegetables, provide the body
with a rich supply of glutathione, which is essential for the quality of the ovum," says Alisa Vitti,
integrative nutritionist and author of WomanCode: Perfect Your Cycle.

Nuts, avocados, olive oil, and grapeseed oil are good for consumption. This is because it can
reduce inflammation in the body, thereby helping to increase ovulation and fertility. Some good
fats can even help women with infertility conditions, one of which is avocado, according to Vitti.

2. Choosing lean protein

Freshwater fish such as salmon, tuna and sardines are recommended by experts. This is
because they are excellent sources of DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, other benefits
are developing the baby's nervous system and reducing the risk of preterm birth. You can eat it
several times a week without worrying about mercury levels, but you should avoid other
varieties, such as shark, swordfish, tilefish, and king mackerel.

Eggs are also another recommended source of protein. One study showed that the risk of
ovulation disorders decreased by 50% when calorie intake came from plant protein. The Harvard
Public Health Study also found that infertility was 39% more likely in the women with the
highest consumption of animal protein.

3. Choose whole grains

Whole grains are an excellent source of B vitamins, vitamin E, and fertility fiber. This
food is useful for increasing blood sugar levels, which affects insulin, and ovulation
function. However, certain women who have hormonal disorders should be aware of gluten
intake in whole grains. This is because gluten in this category of women can actually inhibit
ovulation or conception.

4. Reconsider milk intake

Low-fat milk is a smart source of protein and calcium, but excessive intake of low-fat milk
has been shown to increase the risk of ovulatory infertility, compared to high-fat milk.If you're
having trouble getting pregnant, you might want to consider limiting dairy products
altogether. However, mothers should discuss with their doctor regarding calcium intake. There are
experts who recommend increasing your intake of yogurt. This is because probiotic microbes can
play a role in improving the future health of children.

5. Eat more whole or non-processed foods

As many as 83% of women who follow the Mediterranean diet do not experience fertility
problems or problems. That's because in their diet, most of the consumption consists of whole
grains and vegetables, and consumption of little processed meat.

- Eating a variety of foods.

According to Krieger, the more variety you have, the more likely the mother is to reduce
malnutrition.

6. Other dietary rules

7. Avoid artificial sweeteners

"Artificial sweeteners are a stressor to your system, they create a cortisol response, which
blocks ovulation," says Vitti.

8. Limit consumption of caffeine

Limit caffeine intake from coffee, energy drinks, and tea to under 200 milligrams per day
and do not consume alcohol. Both caffeine and alcohol are diuretics and can keep mucous
membranes moist. This can affect the consistency of cervical fluid.
D.The actual difference in the reproductive cycle of men and women in the effort to have
offspring

What you eat can affect the sex cells, better known as ‘sperm’ for men and ‘egg’ for women.
Fertility in touch with what food is in the eating, so do a balanced diet can increase the chances
to conceive and produce healthy offspring in the future. You do not have the power to change
something that is derivative, but of course you can control what goes into the stomach.

Actual differences in the male reproductive cycle and women is that men produce new
sperm every day while women are born with a finite number of eggs and are not renewable in
their ovaries. Because the quality of the eggs continued to decrease with age, so women who are
aged above 35 years is more difficult to conceive. On the other hand, men face different
problems. Their fertility levels are heavily influenced by the quality, quantity and spontaneous
movement of their sperm. Usefulness of their reproductive organs, like testis, and epididymis
skotrum (located in the vessel), also have an influence.

Lack of food can damage the reproductive system. Zinc, folic acid and calcium, which
is a mineral that can be found in food, should always be part of the daily diet to maintain fertility
or fertility rates. Consumption is also A, C, E and selenium, which in sufficient quantities to
function as antioxidants, to fight free radicals from cigarette, alcohol, drugs and others.
CLOSING

diets, namely diets for:

1. Lose Weight

2. Increase Weight

3. Abstinence of Certain Foods
