1) Logic?

Logic is used to determine and Analyze the data in order to find out whether the

statement is true or false. Logic is not trying to tell us how we do think, but what good thinking

is and, thus, how we ought think. The study of logic is the study of the nature of

arguments and, importantly, of what distinguishes a good argument from a bad one.

2) Argument?

Statistical arguments come to conclusions based on only a small amount of data. There

are 2 Kinds the Deductive and the Inductive; For Deductive arguments, these are the arguments

that reason from a rule to a specific case while the Inductive Argument, Arguments that deduce a

general rule from individual occurrences

Example;

For Deductive Argument

Joe is a man. Therefore Joe is mortal. If the first two statements are true, then the

conclusion must be true.

For Inductive arguments

"The coin I pulled from the bag is a penny. That coin is a penny. A third coin from the

bag is a penny. Therefore, all the coins in the bag are pennies."

3) the difference between Statement and Proposition?

There is no difference between statement and Proposition, since both can be

interchangeable. The definition of both is that it is a sentence that expresses either its always true

or always falls.

Example of Statement/Proposition

The Nile is a river in northeastern Africa

4) Conclusion?

The degree to which conclusions about the relationship between variables based on data

are correct or "logical" is referred to as a statistical conclusion.

Example in the Statement;

Sally: Abortion is morally wrong and those who think otherwise are

seeking to justify murder!

The Conclusion of this statement is that Abortion is wrong.

5) Premise?

Premise includes the Reasons and evidence behind the conclusion.

For Example;

"All mammals are warmblooded [major premise]; whales are mammals [minor premise];

therefore, whales are warmblooded [conclusion].
