THE PLACE WHERE I LIVE

NAME: Luis Javier Huamán Tucumango

Cycle: IV- Pre intermediate

c. Plan a description of the place where you live. Think about your town or city,
and make notes to answer the questions in b.
I live in Cajamarca, which is an important city for its tourist attractions in Peru. It has a
population of over 340,000 people. It's near to the Complejo Baños del Inca, so there
are many tourists in the summer, but also in the rest of the year.
Cajamarca is unfortunately one of the poorest cities in Peru due to a lack of
management. It is a city that currently has two universities. The oldest is the National
University of Cajamarca. There are also many historic churches, for example, the San
Francisco church, the Recoleta church, etc. There are also tourist places, for example,
Ventanillas de Otuzco, La Granja Porcón and Cerro Santa Apolonia around Plaza
Cajamara, with its famous pre-Hispanic construction "Silla del Inca". But Cajamarca
also has beautiful landscapes and stylish restaurants.
The climate in Cajamarca is typical of the mountains of Peru. Winters are cold and
rainy - ideal for sleeping - and summers are hot, but sometimes rainy. Sometimes it
rains in spring, fall and most of the year.
Cajamarca is famous for its thermal baths. The Baños del Inca Tourist Complex is the
symbol of the city. It's also famous for its food and has many local specialties such as
cuy con papa, which is fried guinea pig with spices, and potato, and also the well-
known Chicharron con mote. They are delicious!
What I like the most about Cajamarca is that we are so close to nature. When I'm tired
of city life, I can easily get out and enjoy the thermal spas, rivers, waterfalls and
beautiful landscapes, which are only a short distance away.
