SCOPE
1.2 An asterisk (*) indicates that additional information is provided by ESSO in an addendum
to this specification.
1.3 A pound sign (#) indicates that ESSO review/approval is required before design is
finalized or equipment is purchased.
2.1 Table 1 lists the codes, standards and specifications which shall be used with this
specification.
2.2 The equipment and materials used shall conform to the latest editions, revisions and
addenda of the codes, standards and regulations listed in Table 1.

63 Poutouguem (Maikeri) Field
64 Timbre Field
70 Chad Field Loading
71 Pump Station # 1
85 CTF Utilities
Note: These letters should be limited to two characters on any tag that
will be on a controller face plate. Refer to P&ID Standard Legend
Drawing No. 7400-G000-50D2-0003 (see ECS 1-1-3).
3.5 The instrument tag numbers for well sites shall have the format:

AND LINE DESIGNATION
Example: A high high pressure switch at Kome Well 101 would be numbered
K101-PSHH-01.
3.6 Tag numbers that appear on a DCS face plate shall be limited to eight characters.
3.7 All other tag numbers shall be limited to twelve characters without exception.
3.8 All instruments within a loop shall have the same instrument loop number and the same
first letter of the ISA type.
3.9 General instrument symbols, function symbols, or function block designations shall be
shown as indicated on Standard Legend - Instrument Designations and Symbols for
P&ID's Drawing No. 7400-G000-50D2-0003 (see ECS 1-1-3). ISA Standards shall be
followed for less commonly used symbols.
4.1 Equipment designations shall consist of symbols, letters and numbers as follows:
WABBB-CCC-DDD E
000 General
100 Wellsites
150-199 Well Manifold & Testing Facilities
200 Infield Pipelines
250 Trunklines
300 Gathering Stations
330 Kome Produced Wwater Beneficial Reuse
350 Bolobo Pump Station BP-1
351 Kome Pump Station KP-1
352 Kome Pump Station KP-2
400 Central Treating Facilities
500 Power Generation
550 Power Distribution/Transmission
575 Crude Oil Topping Plant
600 Electrical Substations
650 Control Stations/Rooms
700 Housing/Community
750 Airfield
800 Roads
850 Utilities/Support Facilities
900 Communications Facilities
950 Temporary Facilities
Notes:
1. For each wellsite, the well number shall be used for BBB
2. For each field Manifold Site & Testing Facilities, the designations listed in Table 2
shall be used for BBB.
Example: Two pumps in the same service at the Kome Gathering Station would be
numbered K300-P-101 A/B.

AND LINE DESIGNATION
5.2 The following is the identification system to be used to identify a line (Refer to Standard
Legend - Piping Components and Instrument Lines, Drawing No. 7400-G000-50D2-
0001, ECS 1-1-3):
4 - CAAG2 - NG - 0101 - 25 H E
│ │ │ │ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ │ │ └───── Tracer Type
│ │ │ │ │ └─────── Insulation Type
│ │ │ │ └────────── Insulation Thickness (mm)
│ │ │ └────────────── Line Number
│ │ └─────────────────── Line Service Designation
│ └───────────────────────── Piping Class
└────────────────────────────── Nominal Pipe Size (NPS)
5.2.2 The letter(s) used to designate a line shall be as per Line Service Designations on
Drawing No. 7400-G000-50D2-0004 (see ECS 1-1-3).
5.2.3 The following procedures shall be adhered to when numbers are assigned to lines:
a. All lines shall be assigned with a number regardless of size or length with the
following exceptions:
d. Line numbers shall be changed with change of service designation, pipe class,
pipe size, insulation or tracing requirements.
