Activity 2. Clearly, the development of intellectual revolutions showed how society


transformed by science and technology with their perspectives and beliefs. At this
point, let us determine how it influenced and affected society's life and outlook. Discuss
and write your answers thoroughly to the questions below:

1. The Id, Ego and Super Ego of Freud

This argument becomes sensational and helpful in times of crisis within mind and

body. It explained the influence of behavior and emotions in a person’s

personality. It made people understand the importance of mental health that

psychoanalysis could be a factor of treating mentally ill people.

Natural Selection and Survival of the fittest.

Natural selection refers to the process of survival of the fittest, in which it makes

the certain population or environment adapt to its surrounding. Survival of the

fittest influences the society by creating a healthy interaction between organisms

and not promoting competition.

2. Explain the concept of Geocentrism and Heliocentrism.

The main concept of Geocentrism and Heliocentrism is to explain the logic

between the movements or the rotation of the celestial bodies. Arguing about

who moves and who do not between sun and earth.

3. Name other scientific revolutions that happened in the following places:


a. Meso-America
Meso-America’s important scientific revolution that happened in their place

is that they discovered during their observation the calculation of the

celestial being like the moon or stars which helped them in their

agriculture and architecture observatories.

a. Asia

b. The Asia is well-known for its rapid development in terms of technological

and scientific achievements especially in Japan. Some of its country were

serious in becoming a world-class known science superpower. The Asia’s

scientific revolution is that their regions history for innovation such as

papers or magnetic compass were originated from there continent.

c. Middle East

The Middle East had a numerous invention that changes life. Their

scientific revolution was expanded and among their inventions were the

Arabic numerals which was popular until modern times. Also, the word

“chemistry” was derived from the Arabic word “Kimya’a”.

d. Africa

The Africa planned to visualize the possibility that the Africa will be free of

poverty and become a well-integrated in terms of global economy. Their

research projects includes: biotechnology, biodiversity and adapting new

technologies in the future.
