performances that produces 21st century learners.
CORE VALUES
TAGLINE
Aiming to enhance the basic education system in the Philippines, the Department of
Education complied with the implementation of the K-12 program, as mandated by Republic
Act 10533 or the “Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013”. This law added two years to basic
education and strengthened the curriculum. Now, twelve years of basic education is required
from all public schools around the country. Like other Division offices, the City Schools Division
of Bacoor implemented the K-12 program. This implementation in 2016 manifested in the
creation of five standalone Senior High Schools in Bacoor: in Alima, Progressive, Dulong Bayan,
Sineguelasan, and the biggest in the city, in San Nicholas III.
The Senior High School in San Nicholas was established and opened last June 3, 2016.
The school operated temporarily in the buildings of City of Bacoor National High School Green
Valley. Now, it has its own operating location, and is in the process of improving on its facilities.
In its first three years of operation, Senior High School in San Nicholas, Bacoor City so far
has been headed by four outstanding heads: Mr. Avelino S. Legaspi, Mr. Ronald R. Drio, Dr.
Cesar M. Mojica, and the present school head, Mr. Adorando R. Darvin, Principal II.
With only 19 teaching personnel and 320 students in its inception, the biggest senior
high school in Bacoor has been seeing an increase in the number of its teaching and non-
teaching staff, and its student population.
Senior High School in San Nicholas, Bacoor City offers the following tracks: the
Academic Track, and the Technical- Vocational-Livelihood Track. The Academic Track has
two strands: the Humanities and Social Sciences strand, which aims to mold learners’
communication skills, knowledge of fundamental human and social realities, and values, and
the General Academic Strand, which provides opportunities for a wide range of career
choices in the future. The second Track, the Technical Vocational Livelihood Track, has two
strands: the Information and Communications Technology Strand, which provides timely
knowledge and skills related to the demands of the digital age, and the Home Economics
Strand, which allows for the development of learners’ innate abilities related to food and
beverage.
In order to fulfill the schools’ mission of preparing its students to find decent jobs and
establish successful businesses, the faculty and staff have dedicated significant time and effort
for the enhancement of the students’ capabilities to realize their full potential.
It is where quality learning and diversity of opportunities are realities…every student will
have their future here, in Senior High School in San Nicholas, Bacoor City.

Relative to the ongoing public health situation due to COVID-19 outbreak, the
Department of Education has addressed issues and challenges in the basic education through
the Learning Continuity Plan (LCP). The LCP aims to ensure the health, safety, and well-being
of the learners, teachers, and personnel through utilizing resources in delivering quality,
accessible, relevant, and liberating education. It includes selection of the most essential
learning competencies, conduct of teachers’ training on the use of educational platforms,
and provision of printed individual learning packages (ILPs) such as self-learning modules
(SLMs), activity sheets and worksheets for learners in various learning modalities.
Consequently, recent news revealed that printing of modules is one of the major
concerns of public schools in this new setup of educational system. Despite having a budget
allocation for the shift to distance learning using the school’s maintenance and other
operating expenses (MOOE), this fund can be easily depleted due to the large number of
modules that need to be printed.
This apprehension led the administration of SHS in San Nicholas III, Bacoor City to
provide digitized copies of ILPs to learners starting in November 2020. It also aims to maximize
the use of learning tablets issued by the City Government of Bacoor and Schools Division Office
of Bacoor City. The ILPs can be accessed through the e-portal of the official website of SHS in
San Nicholas III, Bacoor City or data transfer using OTG USB flash drive.
✓ Digitized individual learning packages are ONLY FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS AND
LEARNERS.
Learners, teachers, and parents must collaborate in order for learning to take place, whether
in a traditional classroom environment or through online learning. Each has a unique role to
play. These duties and responsibilities serve as a roadmap for everyone to guarantee that
distant learning is effective and efficient. Learners will be able to transfer to the new structure
more effectively and will be more successful in their studies if they have strong parental and
teacher support. In general, these are the expectations of teachers, learners and parents:
1. Students must...
2. Parents must...…
✓ support and help students get acclimatized to the online schooling set-up;
✓ help make sure that learning continues amidst the disruption posed by the Covid-19
pandemic, as emphasized by the Department of Education; and
✓ help the students adjust to the temporal structure of online learning, as collaborators
of the school in the holistic formation of the students.
3. Teachers must...…
✓ give feedback to students and parents at crucial points during the quarter; and
✓ be online during the entire session so as to attend to various concerns of the class and
of individual students.
4. School Administration…
✓ ensure the School Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan is properly designed and
implemented; and
✓ monitor regularly the teachers in their respective teaching modality.
