• ICMR Review committee of scrutiny of scientist C And D, applications,

screening of 2500 applications was done during June July 2019, at ICMR hqrs,
New Delhi.

• The Secretary DST appointed – Dr Neeta Kumar, co-opted expert committee

member of Science and Technology for Women Scheme (SEED) grant to
develop and adapt appropriate technologies transfer of technologies, drudgery
reduction, addressing the challenges related to women health and nutrition,
gender equality and empowerment of women through inputs of science and
technology vide letter no. SEED/I/WS/07/2017 dated 30-10-2019.

1. Acquired the Certificate in Nutrition and Child Care (CNCC) course (one-year
duration) conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University through correspondence
in November 2005.

About the course: This course gives the in-depth theoretical as well as practical knowledge
related to nutrition in community, early childhood care and education. It has two
components: 1) Nutrition for the community, 2) Organizing Child Care Services. It is a
broad – based package covering the basics of nutrition as well as some of its major
applications. The course helped to select the right kind of food keeping cost in mind; plan
reasonably priced nutritious meals/snakes for population at large for my upcoming studies.
In addition the course would provide chance to familiarize with meal patterns in different
regions of the country, recognize and identify common illnesses that arise out of eating the
wrong types of food, acquaint one self with the various programmes organized by the
government to tackle nutritional problems.

2. Workshop on “Essentials of Epidemiology and Research Methods” held on 28th April

to Ist May 2005, at All India Institute of Medical Sciences. This workshop lucidly
addressed various day-to-day job related questions i.e. Formulation of research questions,
Types of study design, Measurement of variables and Descriptive statistics, Association,
causation, Bias, Confounding, Interaction and Role of chance, Measures of disease
frequency, Hypothesis testing and estimation, Cross sectional study (design, conduct and
analysis), Cohort study (design, conduct and analysis), Diagnostic tests, Clinical trial
(design and conduct), Epi-Info, Qualitative research methods etc. The coarse included
Critical appraisal and Interactive sessions.

3. “Post Graduate Certificate course of Health and Family Welfare management”

form National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), Munirka, New Delhi.
This highly valuable course enables one to understand country’s health care system, its
lacunae and remedies in very focused and effective manner. I recently appear in

 • First Indian multi-center study conducted by ICMR as task force study to check
out prevalence of Osteoporosis in our adult community and reference value of the bone
density for the Indians since March’ 2003. This task force study completed on 4
Centers (Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi) with mainly two Objectives:

• To establish peak bone mineral density (BMD) reference values for Indian men
and women. To assess the prevalence of osteoporosis in Indian adults.

• Estimation of Oxidative stress in iron deficiency anemia in daily vs weekly doses

among anemic pregnant mothers.

• Evaluation of maternal hemoglobin spectrum (including lowest/ highest), iron

consumption pattern and its effect on maternal and child health status.

• Estimation of oxidative stress in placenta of anemic women during daily vs

weekly iron consumption.

• Health Account Scheme: (HAS): Indian population is known for poor health
awareness and record keeping behaviors are also poor. It has no channel of
communication with the existing health system. There is no data in real time dynamic
/ and authentic data on-age, person, place, disease specific health information with the
Government too. Keeping in the view of scarcity of district level estimates of
morbidities for NRHM, which is necessary for deciding funneling of funds, a unique
scheme of HAS -Health Accounting Scheme has been initiated. This would not only
generate health awareness under right to health but also provide usable information to
the Government one click away. Such information is useful for need based real time
service delivery, as well as provides community a channel for communication and
sense of belongingness.

▪ Contributed in the designing of tools for the ICMR evaluating plan of research to
bring out reasons for blind new born children in villages of Bhaluipur, Barahra, Bihia,
