Introductory Message
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator, in helping the learners meet the standards
set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints
in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.
In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of the module:
As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module.
You also need to keep track of the learners’ progress while allowing them to manage their own
learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do the
tasks included in the module.
Welcome to the Grade 9 Project CAP-LRE Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on
Prepare Architectural Job Requirements (Architectural Working Drawing).
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided
and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process the

Check your answer using the answer key. If you got 9 or 10 correct answers, that
means you are competent with the lesson on Drafting Tools as well as the technical terms
encountered in Architectural Drawing. Congratulations! You can now move to the next topic.
However, if you got more than half wrong answers, read and study the lesson
thoroughly one more time for you to understand it well.
What’s In
Write it!
In drafting technology course, it is necessary to prepare for different drawing tasks.

Drafting Tools List
by: Jasmin P. Santiago
On the second week of classes, Simon’s teacher, Mrs. De Leon, gave them
assignment. She tasked them to give the various plans included in the architectural sheets
on house planning. Furthermore, she gave clues for her students to easily find these plans.
Simon was worried at first. He kept on thinking how he could answer the assignment
given to them.
Nevertheless, Mrs. De Leon is a wonderful teacher. She discussed the lesson well
and gave her students several activities. Simon listened attentively to his teacher during the
discussion and tried his best to answer the activities correctly.
His effort in trying hard to understand the lesson relieved his worrying. He started to
feel confident that he can answer the assignment well. He is determined to get a good score.
If you are one of the students of Mrs. De Leon, do you think you can pull off the
activity? Try to answer the word hunt below for you to find the plans included in architectural
sheets.
Directions: Find and mark the words related to architectural sheets in house planning.

Plan, and Vicinity Map or Location Plan is often included in the plan).
Perspective
A graphic representation of the view as seen by the eyes, it shows the appearance
of the finished building. This drawing represents the actual, in three-dimensional form of
the proposed building. (See sample perspective below).
6
Location Plan
The top view of the site or lot where the proposed house will be built. It shows the
position of the house inside the lot, the number of the adjacent lots, streets or lanes before

The second part of this lesson are the list of architectural terms used in technical
drafting preparations and their abbreviations.
Familiarize yourself with the following terms and abbreviations.
Architectural Symbols
Familiarizing all the architectural symbols is a prerequisite for all students in
architecture and drafting technology programs considering that their future works will be on
the architectural activity. It would be difficult for them to interpret drawing or blueprint unless
they have familiarized all the architectural symbols.
The following illustrations are the architectural symbols:
Doors and windows symbols that are shown in the floor plan.
10
Doors and windows symbols that used to represent doors on floor plans and elevation
drawings
Door, window and staircase symbols that are shown in the elevation plans.

Draw it!
Directions: Draw the door and window symbols in the plan, and place your drawings inside
the boxes below.
Having gone through different activities and assessment, have you realized the
importance of architectural drawings in house planning? Write the importance of having
complete plans before constructing a building.
13
What I Can Do
List it!
House planning is composed of different plans and documents, it is important that
you can identify those in real life, in order for you to be more familiari on architectural working
plans.
Observe your house, look around and give the different parts of your house together
with the plan that you think is needed for that particular part of your house.
14
Assessment
Match it!
Directions: Match the terms in column A with their corresponding description in column B
Write the letter of your answer on the provided space before each number.
Column A Column B
15
Additional Activity
Write it!
Directions: Every work should need to have plans, just like in architectural working drawing
that we talked about in this module, we have eight plans and details to be
organized. Make a diagram by writing down the plans based on the given
sheets.
