SCADAPack Workbench Application

Deployment Instructions

This document details the deployment instructions for the SCADAPack Workbench Starter
Application Project which has been delivered with the installation of SCADA Expert
ClearSCADA 2013 R1.

Prerequisites
The following are required prior to the deployment of the SCADAPack Workbench Starter
Application:

1. Installation of Schneider Electric’s SCADA Expert ClearSCADA 2013 R1, including


the Example Project demonstration database.
2. Installation of Schneider Electric’s SCADAPack Workbench software.
3. Identification of the SCADAPack Workbench ‘Solutions’ directory.

Loading the Project


The following instructions should be executed to deploy the SCADAPack Workbench Starter
Application:

1. Extract the ‘WastewaterApplicationStarter.zip’ archive into the SCADAPack


Workbench ‘Solutions’ directory.
2. Launch SCADAPack Workbench.
3. From the ‘File’ menu, select ‘Open’ and then ‘Project/Solution…’
4. If the active directory does not default to the SCADAPack Workbench ‘Solutions’
directory, browse to this location.
5. Select the newly extracted ‘WastewaterApplicationStarter’ directory, and click ‘Open’.
6. Select the solution file ‘WastewaterApplicationStarter.isasln’ and click ‘Open’.
a. The Wastewater Starter Application should now be loaded into the
SCADAPack Workbench development environment.

Downloading and Debugging the SCADAPack E Smart RTU Logic
Application
The following instructions should be executed to download and debug the SCADAPack
Workbench Starter Application in the SCADAPack E Smart RTU:

1. Ensure a SCADAPack E Smart RTU is connected by Ethernet to the computer


running the ClearSCADA server.
2. Launch ViewX.
3. Take note of the RTUs Type, IP Address and DNP3 Address.
4. Configure the ‘Outstation’ object within ‘Example Projects.Wastewater
Application.SCADAPack E Site 1.SCADA Equipment.RTU’ to ensure the DNP3
Address, IP Address, and Outstation Type match that of the connected RTU. Save
these changes.
5. Enable the Ethernet channel within ‘Example Projects.Wastewater
Application.~Config.~Comms’.
a. The SCADAPack E Site 1 Outstation should connect to the SCADAPack E
Smart RTU. If this does not occur, check the configuration settings and repeat
step 4 above.
6. Right-click on the Outstation object and select 'Download Configuration’, when
prompted select ‘All Configuration’. The RTU should restart with the new
configuration, including the SCADAPack Workbench logic application.
7. Within SCADAPack Workbench, configure the IP Address of the RTU within the
‘Deployment.isadpl’ Solution View. Refer to “Configuring Ethernet Communication
with the RTU” within the SCADAPack E Target 5 Help file if required.
8. Follow the “Debugging Programs” instructions within the SCADAPack E Target 5
Help file to debug the Wastewater Starter Application in the RTU.
