Lesson: INTRODUCTION OF GLOBALIZATION

1. Video No. 1: Introduction of Globalization

1.1. Learning No.1:

The first topic that caught my attention is the global economies are becoming more
interdependent and rapidly spreading. The video shows the rapid development of world's
economies and the market economic system in the recent years, it is based on the fast
development of science and technology.

I have here an example result of the process of economic globalization. KFC and Pizza Hut,
these two fast foods were becoming famous here in the Philippines but originally came at
US. Also, my personal experience which is I am now using Realme phone that was created
in India. At first, I thought that economic globalization affects the business world only, but
after watching videos and have some realization, I found out that globalization has a huge
effect on us individually.

1.2. Learning No. 2:

Expansion of technology is the second topic that got my attention. The growing
manufacturing company in the world is made of the rapid expansion of internet. The video
demonstrates that technology has also huge impact in the whole world. I noticed that the
time opened the doors to immediate communication anywhere in the world, the market
benefited to transfer goods and funds instantly in long-distance transactions.

Best example or application of this is SHEIN Online Shop, it is one of the famous online
shopping flatform worldwide. The company was founded in China, but because of the
technology anyone can order them and they can easily ship their products worldwide. This
flatform is essential for those people who wants imported products.

2. Video No. 2: Advantages and Disadvantages of Globalization

1.1. Learning No.1:

I will go first from the advantage of globalization. I would like to give emphasize this
advantage "Transfer of ideas stimulates innovation". Transferring and sharing thoughts to
everyone can create new knowledge and changes that may lead to growth. Because of
globalization, anyone of us around the world can easily access each other.

During this pandemic, I always stay and choose to use my phone browsing sites rather
than going outside. One day, I decided to use a "dating website" and I found this girl from
Canada. At first, we are both shy but eventually we did not notice that we are sharing
thoughts about our country. I shared knowledge and ideas especially our traditions,
beaches, falls etc and turned out she wanted to visit here soon once the pandemic is done.

1.2. Learning No.2:

Globalization has a lot of disadvantages in different ways, but I would like to give focus on
the example given from the video which is "Dominant TNCs and less cultural diversity".
Transactional corporation cater multiple business which operate in different countries.
That is the reason why the own products of one country became cheaper.

I have this example; McDonalds are originally coming from US but because of globalization
they have this opportunity to establish it everywhere. Here in our country, we have this
Carinderia but when the time we colonized by other country, some establishments are
brought and became famous. Our Carinderia is now cheaper, because a lot of people now
will automatically choose this famous fast food (Mcdo) compared to our traditional food
store.
