2. Determine the pressure at a depth of 9.00 𝑚 in oil of specific gravity 0.750.
3. Find the absolute pressure in 𝑝𝑠𝑖 at a depth of 20.0 𝑓𝑡 below the free surface of a body of water when the
barometer reads 29.90 𝑖𝑛 of mercury, 𝑠𝑝. 𝑔𝑟. 13.57.
4. What depth of oil, sp.gr. 0.750, will produce a pressure of 40.0 𝑝𝑠𝑖?
5. Find the pressure at the bottom of a tank containing glycerin under pressure as shown in the figure
below.

6. Convert a pressure head of 4.60 𝑚 of water to meters of oil, sp.gr. 0.750.

7. What is the atmospheric pressure in 𝑘𝑃𝑎 when a mercury barometer reads 742 𝑚𝑚?
8. For the pressure vessel containing glycerin, with piezometer attached shown below, find the pressure
at point 𝐴.

9. For the open tank, with piezometers attached on the side, containing two different immiscible liquids
as shown below, find the elevation of the liquid surface in piezometer 𝐴.

10. In the figure below, the areas of the plunger 𝐴 and cylinder 𝐵 are 6.00 and 600 𝑖𝑛2 , respectively, and
the weight of 𝐵 is 9000 𝑙𝑏. The vessel and the connecting passages are filled with oil of specific gravity of
0.750. What force 𝐹 is required for equilibrium, neglecting the weight of 𝐴?
11. Determine the pressure at 𝐴 in psi gage due to the deflection of the mercury, sp.gr. 13.57, in the U-tube
shown below.

12. A manometer is attached to a tank containing three different fluids as shown in the figure below.

13. Oil of specific gravity 0.750 flows through the nozzle as shown in the figure below and deflects the
mercury in the U-tube gage. Determine the value of ℎ if the pressure at 𝐴 is 20.0 𝑝𝑠𝑖.

14. For a gage pressure at 𝐴 of −10.89 𝑘𝑃𝑎, find the specific gravity of the gage liquid 𝐵 in the figure below.
15. For a gage reading at 𝐴 of −2.50 𝑝𝑠𝑖, determine the elevations of the liquid in the piezometer columns
E, F, and G in the figure below.
