Create a short video advertisement highlighting the importance on information control in the

Philippines. You can benchmark on the advertisements shown in cinemas explaining why
movie piracy is considered a crime or a video campaign raising the awareness on information
privacy especially among vulnerable populations such as children, teenagers, and young
adults. The goal is to make the Filipino viewers understand the need for information control in
the country.

The guidelines are as follows:

1. use your own script


2. the video must not exceed 3 minutes.
3. The setting/situation must be in the Philippines or related to Filipino culture.
4. Follow the rules on intellectual property in creating your video.

1. Children – they can watch anything


2. Teenagers – watch movies in unauthorized sites
3. Young adults – going to the personal life of others, habit is digging deeper to the
point that you are going beyond the private life of people
4. Adults - Fake News – not checking facts, only believing, privacy is at stake

Information Technology. This has been one of the main concerns of the people at
present times. As we shifted with this new normal, we become more immersed
with the digital world and it becomes a primary source to communicate and
gather information about anything. This simply means that the digital world
greatly influences the lives of the people especially their perspectives. With this,
information control must exist to be able to handle all information appearing on
the internet legally and appropriately. If people would not take information control
seriously, a lot of people would be affected. Starting from the children, they can
watch anything on the internet if they would not be guided properly and it might
influence their mentality about things in life so we really need to control or limit
the information they grasp from the internet and it should only focus on the
information appropriate to their ages.
Next is the teenagers. As we all know watching movies online instead of going to
cinemas has been rampant especially in teenagers in today’s generation.
However, along with this is the rise of unauthorized sites which usually upload
movies without the right permission from the producers. With this, we should be
mindful of our actions as it is against the R.A. 10088 or maybe the Philippines
Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 implemented in the Philippines. It is really
illegal to download these copyrighted materials from that kind of sites especially
that it lacks security for the user so it is important to be wise and look for legal
torrents in the internet. In addition to that, most of the teenagers are called as
“keyboard warriors” because they are very aggressive especially in criticizing the
life of other people to the point that they dig deeper about its personal life just like
to the celebrities so it is really important to control the information shared on the
internet as it is for your own safety and privacy.
Lastly is the spread of fake news and this is usually relevant to everyone
including children, teenagers and adults as they believe immediately with one
post without properly checking its facts. There are only few people who verify first
before reacting so it is really important to remind people about this one as
information control would take place.
These four scenarios prove that information control should be taken seriously as
it can change the lives of many people especially to those who become
dependent on the usage of the internet so we should always be aware of the
effects of our future actions before typing the information we want to share and
clicking the “post” button. Always remember, think before you type and click!

from the children
