We Love to be with Friends


God wants to share His goodness with us.


That is why He created a wonderful
world for us. But most of all, He gave us
special gifts- our FRIENDS.
“It is not good for man to be
alone.”

When we have friends, we feel happy, excited,


and good. There is joy in our hearts.

What else do you love to do with your

Calling Christ’s First Disciples

When Jesus was on earth, he also loved


to be with friends.

Here is a bible story about two men who


wanted to become Jesus’ friends.

One afternoon, Jesus was


walking along the Jordan
river. Two men saw him and
followed him. When Jesus
saw that they were
following him, he asked
“What are you looking for?”
The two men said they
wanted to know Jesus
better. “Where do you live?
They asked. “Come and
see.” Jesus answered.

So they went with him. They


saw where he lived and
spent the rest of that day
with him. They became good
friends.

One of them was Andrew,


Simon Peter’s brother. Andrew
went home to tell his brother
about Jesus. Then he took
Simon to Jesus. Simon also
wanted to be a friend of Jesus.
Jesus named him Peter.

·Jesus called twelve men to be his special
friends. They became very close to Jesus. They
were called to help in Jesus’ work on earth.
They are known as the twelve apostles.

·Jesus continues to invite people to be his


friends and disciples.

We all need friends. Jesus understands this


need for friendship. That is why he has given
us our friends, his special gifts to us.

Jesus was such a good friend that the


lives of the people he met and touched
changed for the better.
