StickyPic 1.1 for Rainmeter (revision 2)

by Wrecklaimer

(Requires Rainmeter 1.2 or higher)

Thank you for downloading StickyPic, a Rainmeter picture viewer designed to look
like taped photos.

Features included:
 Landscape and portrait layouts
3 sizes (small, medium, large).
3 orientations (striaght, clockwise, counter-clockwise)
 Various toggleable aesthetic effects
Hidden controls on each viewer (see instructions)
Launcher menu to easily add viewers to the desktop
Settings editor to tweak the configs
set behavior and appearance
change picture sets
customize update options

To get started, open the main menu config (StickyPic_Menu.ini). All viewer configs
can be opened from this menu. Just go to the appropriate tab and select a size and
orientation. No Rainmeter right-click menus involved!

PER CONFIG INSTRUCTIONS:

You will want to change the filepaths for the pictures that you want displayed in
each config (see section below).
Mouse over the upper-right corner of the picture to show the controls. The 'X'
closes the viewer, the "cycle" symbol will reload the viewer, and the magnifying
glass opens the current image in your default picture viewer. The icon in the
upper-left corner will open a menu of extra options. From this menu, you can open
the settings editor, set the pictures file path, and open the current pictures
folder. Click the icon again to close the menu. Double-click any config to the
main menu.

SETTING PICTURES FILEPATH:

From the drop-down menu on any viewer (upper-left corner), select 'Edit Picture
Path'. If accessed from this drop-down menu, the correct viewer will already be
selected for you. Otherwise, select the viewer that you want and either browse for
or type in the desired folder path. Be sure to click the 'Set' button after each
change. A link to this path editor can also be found at the bottom of either the
'landscape' or 'portrait' tabs of the main menu.

SETTING PICTURE UPDATE OPTIONS:

In the settings editor, go to the 'Update' tab. In the editor, change any of the
update values. Selecting 'min' will set the value in minutes and 'hr' will set it
in hours. Be sure to click the 'Set' button next to the value to save it. Any
changes will show up in the 'Settings' tab of the editor. NOTE: If you change the
value for an update option that is already selected, you must click 'Apply' on the
'Settings' tab to use the new value (i.e. '1hr' is currently selected and you
change it to '2hr' and click set, you must go to the 'Settings' tab and click
'Apply' for it to use the newer value of the option, 2 hours, instead of the old
value, 1 hour).

[FAQ]/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Q: I've installed StickyPic (correctly), but when I open a config, nothing shows
up/things are missing.

A: After freshly installing StickyPic onto several different computers, I've yet to
encounter such problems. Unless files are missing, this should not happen. Your
best bet is to delete StickyPic and reinstall.

Q: I've set the picture path to the folder that I want. Why is nothing showing?

A: Check to make sure that the path that you specified is correct/valid. Try
refreshing the viewers to make sure they are using the new path. If you entered the
path in manually, try using the browse feature in the settings editor to select the
folder path. Lastly, make sure that the subfolders option is on if you have the
images in multiple folders.

Q: How do I make it so that the pictures change every X minutes/seconds?

A: If you want to use an interval not available in the settings, you customise them
in the 'Update' tab of the settings editor. Be sure to click 'set' to save your
changes.
