Dear Scholar,

Greetings of Peace!

School year 2019-2020 is approaching, hence, we expect that requests for subsidy will be coming in. Since
the Philberth Foundation released the “Handbook for Grantees” containing the policies and guidelines of its
scholarship program in October 2015 and followed by yearly reminders, there are still many who do not
comply correctly with the reportorial requirements.

It is for the above reason that we are sending you this letter and attachments so that you will be guided in
accomplishing requirements for subsidy release. We would also like to reiterate and stress that we will not
process subsidy requests with lacking requirements and submitted outside the period of requisition which is
May to July for the 1st semester and November to January for the 2nd semester. If you do not receive your
check two weeks after your request with complete requirements is presumably received by the foundation,
kindly contact us. Late requests, however, may still be accommodated on a case by case basis.

Please take note also of the following reminders:

a) Address all your communications for the Philberth Foundation to no other than the following:
Sr. Marianne Razon, OSB
Philberth Foundation
b) When requesting for subsidy, follow the schedule for requesting and releasing. Check releasing is
done on Fridays and for checks to be disbursed on schedule, requirements should be in during cut off
for submission which is Mondays.
c) The requirements for subsidy requests are detailed in the requirements checklist (attached).
d) You are only required to submit 1 Christmas card for Fr. Karl Philberth and the deadline for
submission is not later than November 30. We send all the cards to Fr. Karl only once during the 1 st
week of December to ensure that he receives them on or before Christmas Day. The card you submit
should be properly filled up with Fr. Karl’s name, your Christmas message and words of gratitude (in
English) and your complete name. Please be informed that we do not send to Fr. Karl blank cards as
well as late cards.
e) You should inform the foundation when changing your contact information (mobile phone, landline,
email) for effective communication. You are also encouraged to occasionally check your email for
updates or circular letters from the foundation
f) Philberth checks which cannot be claimed at the Procurator’s office may be deposited to your bank
account or that of your parents; in the absence of said account, you may use a sibling’s or relative’s
account but you must write the Philberth Foundation of your intent and specify your relation to the
account holder, provide the complete account information , and submit an authorization letter
accomplished by the account holder.
g) The Philberth Foundation observes office hours as follows: 8:00am-12:00 noon/1:00pm-5:00pm,
Monday to Friday; be kind enough to observe said period.

Please be reminded that all scholars are expected to abide by the policies and guidelines of the scholarship
program. Your cooperation will definitely help us serve you more efficiently because the Philberth
scholarship program is handled by limited part time personnel attending to hundreds of scholars all over the
country. God bless!

For Philberth Foundation,

Ms. Nonna
