Computerized Library System Example
Computerized Library System Example
INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, Technology plays an important role in people’s life because there are
many convenient ways to make work easier than the manual process. It serves a variety
of functions in many of the most important aspects of modern society, like education,
communication and business. Due to the help of modern technology. One of these is
Library System.
Computerized library system. A computerized library system for a high school keeps
track of all books and periodicals in the library and their check-out status. The library
system also interfaces with an external relational database which stores information about
the library users (students, faculty, and staff), including whether they have any library
items checked out. Library users can access the catalog and recall books and periodicals.
A library can be defined as a room or building where books are kept and referenced.
knowledge, houses collections of books, both reference and general, technical reports,
periodicals, journals, conference proceedings and the likes. Consequently, truth and
knowledge can be found and acquired from the library through the aforementioned
microfilms, audiotapes, microchips and other materials traditionally kept in the library,
Librarian and they fill them of using pens. Afterwards, the school administrators process
them manually and complied on large bulky file cabinet. Indeed, the manual Library
system is very costly, time consuming and tedious. The primary complaint of school
administrators with this system is the tiresome task of searching through records just to
verify your query data. The fast phased of technology attributed a lot to the improvement
of the library system. Technology enabled software developers to computerize the library
system. The automated library system helped the academe greatly. Library, transactions
There are other sections like add section, which allows the admin to add books, and
serial section where periodical, journals and Dates issued by a student are kept. The
library also houses special collections and also operates circulation control in which
books are lent to users. In fact it is indeed a place of multifarious activities on book
management.
using the index card as identification for the student and librarian to know. But mostly of
information on it.
The librarian and the library users still use manual way of transacting of borrowing
and returning of books. The librarian use log books in listing the books. They use Library
cards and cards catalogues in searching for reading and reference materials.
To develop a computerized library system that will help the Gen.T National High
School to face their problem about operating their manually process library
system. At the same time is to boost their accuracy and efficiency in terms of
processing.
To create a module that will help the librarians, teachers and students to process the
In addition, they can easily identify when will the borrowed material be returned and if a

The log-in form will be seen in first form, that can register the account of student and
teacher on it. The admin is the one who will use computer and when the student/teacher
wants to borrow book they will log-in first , choose the book they want to borrow
automatically and will see when is the due date of the book they borrow.
The system will reduce the time and effort of the users in terms of adding, editing,
searching, deleting and recording of records. The system can also help in reducing the
expenses of the library such as papers, folders, pens and other materials needed in their
current system. The system that enables the librarian to share the records of the student
such as the borrowing books, returning books, search books, and prescriptions of the
librarian. The student’s personal information/data may be stored upon the request of
authorized librarian/admin.
This chapter starts on the discussion about the project research design
methodology. The second part presents the development of the system. The third part
tells the operation, process and testing. The last parts discuss the evaluation procedure.
Our group used internet for getting tools we will be using to develop this system.
In our research, and used the computer/laptop with internet to search the information that
user friendly interface, fast access to database, less error, more storage capacity, search
All the manual difficulties in managing the library have been rectified by
implementing computerization.
OVERVIEW
It removes manual process of issuing books by easy and simplified way of issuing book
software’s interface.
Generate customized report for library items, library inventory and library fine collection.
WATERFALL MODEL
Requirement phase- All the requirements of the system are captured in this phase.
Design phase- This phase looks at how the software will be built and how the
system will operate. The main purpose if this stage is to create a blueprint that will satisfy
Implementation phase- Is the stage in the project where theoretical design is tuned
into a working system. The implementation phase constructs, installs and operates the
new system. The most crucial stage in achieving a new successful system is that it will
work efficiently and effectively. Each unit is developed tested for its functionality which
into a system after testing of each unit. Post integration the entire system is tested for any
Maintenance phase- This phase is needed to fix or to enhance the system for the
better version. Also to enhance the product some better versions are released.
First we knowledge requirement in order to make a system then the user’s needs ( like
computer, laptop and internet), the existing application and development tools is also
needed in order to make a system program. In order to gather data and to know the
procedures or the process, we need to ask questions and make interviews of the the target
company and the target user’s for gathering information and data. This is the thing that
we need to do and to get in order to make an output that is computerized library system
and to make a final product which is the library system.
