Introduction
BENEFICIARIES
STUDENTS
“QR attendance monitoring system” is software developed for maintaining the attendance of the
student on the daily basis in the collage. Here the staffs, who are handling the subjects, will be
responsible to mark the attendance of the students. Each staff will be given with a separate
username and QR Code based on the subject they handle. An accurate report based on the
student attendance is generated here. This system will also help in evaluating attendance
eligibility criteria of a student. Report of the student’s attendance on weekly and monthly basis is
generated
EMPLOYEE
The staffs will be provided with the separate username and QR Code to make the student’s
status. The staffs handling the particular subjects responsible to make the attendance for all
students. Only if the student present on that particular period, the attendance will be calculated.
CHAPTER I
PROJECT CONTEXT
In this context, the researcher wanted to conduct the study to enabling awareness of
the features of the attendance monitoring system using the QR code. It also intended to
determine the level of acceptability of QR code attendance monitoring system as perceived by
particular teachers-user and the students of General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School as
participants of the study. Thus, this study is geared towards evidence-based practice using
this type of computer system that will serve as a preference towards continuous
improvement and work on the recommendation on how this type of system can be
adapted in the school context.
This system developed will reduce the manual work and avoid redundant data. By
maintaining the attendance manually, then efficient reports cannot be generated. The system can
generate efficient weekly, consolidate report based on the attendance. As the attendances are
maintained in registers it has been a tough task for admin and staff to maintain for long time.
Instead the software can keep long and retrieve the information when needed. Attendance
Management System basically has two main modules for proper functioning Admin module is
has rights for creating any new entry of faculty and student details. User has rights of making
daily attendance, generating report. Attendance report can be taken by given details of student
details, date, and class. The system should be designed in such a way that only authorized people
should be allowed to access some particular modules. The records should be modified by only
administrators and no one else. The user should always be in control of the application and not
the vice versa. The user interface should be consistent so that the user can handle the application
with ease and speed.
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION
QR CODE: QUICK RESPONSE CODE
QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix
barcode (or two-dimensional bar code) first designed for the automotive industry in Japan. Bar
codes are optical machine-readable labels attached to items that record information related to the
item. It was initially patented; however, its patent holder has chosen not to exercise those rights.
Recently, the QR Code system has become popular outside the automotive industry due to its
fast readability and greater storage capacity compared to standard UPC barcodes. The code
consists of black modules (square dots) arranged in a square grid on a white background. The
information encoded may be made up of four standardized types ("modes") of data (numeric,
alphanumeric, byte / binary, Kanji) or, through supported extensions, virtually any type of
data A QR code, as shown in Fig.1 is read by an imaging device, such as a camera, and
formatted algorithmically by underlying software using Reed-Solomon error correction until the
image can be appropriately interpreted. Data is then extracted from patterns present in both
horizontal and vertical components of the image.
1. Figure shows a sample of an unencrypted QR code that will be needed by the proposed
system.
OBJECTIVE
To have a more technological way of checking the attendance by giving each student and
stuff their personal QR code.
To Implement school policy with fairness and avoid bias among their personal QR code
To ensure the legitimacy of students using identification card embedded with a QR code
technology.
To inform parents about their children’s school arrival and departure.
To verify the exact count of students entering school.
User Friendly: Provide user friendly application.
To identify easily those part of the community of PLMar and those who are just outsiders
and/or visitors.
Record students data (Name, reg form,etc,.).
To monitor those students who will commit violations when it comes to attendance (ex:
cutting class).
These ideas are not just for student but also to professors, stuff of the whole community
of the PLMar in terms of attendance.
To monitor both professors, stuffs performance.
SCOPE & LIMITATION:
The ID with a QR code can only be used by the ID holder or any personnel of the
institute wherein when it is online then it can read anything and all is done with the help of QR
reader or the Sema Code. The code can easily give all the information of the holder through
the application in the computer wherein such as the student can check his/her information such
as tuitions fees, grades, and the class schedule, medical records. The students can use their ID’s
as a pass to enter the school premises. The administration can easily monitor the entry of every
personality in that specific time and date. This QR ID also applies to all visitors of the school as
a reference of their entry and purpose.
Display information of the students such as student names, ID number, course, time and
date of entrance and exit through swiping of their ID into the QR code scanner terminal.
Update and validate if the students are enrolled during the semester.
Monitor the arrival/departure of every student enrolled in the particular semester or
school year.
Controlled door locked gate terminal to control the flow of entrance and the exit of the
students.
Sending of SMS to notify student’s parent about their arrival/departure in school campus.
Generates report for students information pertaining to their entrance and exit activities.
