The document outlines a proposal for a course management system to address inefficiencies of the current manual system used by most Vietnamese schools. It would allow automated grading, online sharing of resources to reduce paper costs, and track student performance. Key objectives are reducing paper use by 25% and improving teacher and student satisfaction. Requirements include viewing course materials, producing transcripts, online exams, and resource sharing between teachers. Risks include underestimating work and reluctance to change systems. The project is scheduled to launch in September 2020 and be completed by March 2021 with a budget of $100,000.

Since the number of students is exponentially increasing, this form of data management is deemed inefficient, inaccurate, and time-consuming. The manual method necessitates the preservation of various written records, which necessitates significant resources such as room storage. Quiz scoring by the instructor is often boring, time-consuming, and often unreliable. Due to time and distance constraints, it is difficult for teachers to share and upgrade course resources with their students. It is important to improve the effectiveness and consistency of the educational process. By offering tools for organizing classes, courses, and accessing resources, a course management system may assist in resolving the issues listed above. Teachers no longer have to manually grade quizzes on paper; instead, they may automate the grading process by providing the system with a response for each question. There is no need for teachers to manually record each student's score on paper. The machine automatically records and saves the score. By easily uploading slides, e-books, and other tools to the website, it is easier for teachers to share and refresh them with their students. It assists in lowering the cost of printing or delivering them to students. Students can enroll in class, take a test, and receive a test result report. Students can keep track of their academic success to see if they improve in a specific subject. Students have access to sharing resources at any time and from any place. Measurable project objectives and related success criteria Objective Success Criteria 1. By facilitating sharing resources The total cost of paper used in a online, the course management particular school is reduced by at least system helps reduce the total cost 25% in the first year after applying the of paper used in a particular school. system. 2. High-level requirements 1. Students will be able to view and download learning materials via the Course Management System. 2. The system would produce a grade transcript for each student in a specific semester. 3. Students would be able to enroll in a specific course via the system. 4. Students will be able to take exams using the framework. 5. Teachers would be able to build assessments using the framework. 6. The system would enable teachers to see the grade of a test in a particular class to which they are assigned. 7. Teachers will be able to exchange learning resources for each course they are teaching across the framework.
Assumptions and constraints
Assumptions: - Every student and instructor has access to a personal computer or laptop with a reliable Internet connection; or every school that uses the Course Management System has sufficient computers or laptops for its students and staff. - In order to use the system comfortably, both student and instructor should have a clear understanding of computers and the Internet. - Every school has a policy against students cheating on exams. Constraints: - The project must launch on September 3, 2020 - The project must finish within 6 months High-level risks 1. Because no one on the team has ever built a system like this before, there's a risk we've grossly underestimated the amount of work involved. 2. Since most Vietnamese schools are used to and relaxed with manual course management, there is a risk that they will refuse to use our method. 3. Since users were not involved in the requirements collection process, developers do not have accurate requirements or a thorough understanding of the requirement.
