1. Term and definitions
Timetable Screen: Screen for features related to timetable

Class Screen: Screen for virtual classroom. Teachers and students can participate in and do
classroom activities like checking interaction of students, doing quizzes, taking attendance, chatting,
etc.

Manage Quiz Screen: Screen for features related to quiz.

Create Quiz Manually Screen: Screen to create quiz manually. Teacher need to create questions,
then add wanted questions to quiz.

3. Guidelines

In the application folder, open Dystance execution file (Dystance.exe) to open the app.
3.1 User Login with google account
Users use google accounts provided by University to login.
After logging in, user will be navigated to timetable screen.
3.2 Manage Timetable
In timetable screen, user can view classes with specified slot. By selecting time filter, user can view
classes in corresponding week.

By selecting longing class in timetable or in next slots list, user will be navigated to class screen.
 In timetable screen of students, attendance history is presented in matching slots.

3.3 Virtual Classroom

When needed, a window of Firefox will be used for requesting screen and audio authorization.
These requests are mandatory for presenting screen feature. If user want to use presenting screen
feature, please give the permission and do not try to close the Firefox window.

3.3.1. Virtual Classroom for Student

3.3.1.1. Student Chat
Student can chat with other in classroom and load messages of previous slot by clicking “Load
Previous Slot Chat” button.
3.3.1.2. Student checking interaction
In case checking-interaction feature is turned on by teacher, periodically, a window for asking
interaction will be prompt. If student don’t confirm by clicking “Yes, I am” in 5 seconds, the window
will disappear and the interaction rate will go down.

3.3.1.3. Student quiz

In case a quiz is started by teacher, a quiz window will prompt. Student will do quiz with a
countdown timer. Quiz will finish when time limit is up or student click “submit” button.
3.3.2. Virtual Classroom for Teacher
3.3.2.1. Teacher Chat
Teacher in classroom can chat and view previous chat message.

3.3.2.2. Teacher checking interaction

Teacher can turn on/off interaction checking with desired time by clicking on switch button. When
students interact, notifications will show in interaction notification area.
3.3.2.3. Teacher attendance taking
Teacher takes attendance by select on attendance check box or uses auto attendance feature. After
selecting criteria (join time, leave time, interaction rate) with preferring logic, teacher turn on auto
attendance by clicking switch.

Teacher can click “Finish attendance” to finish attendance and “Export excel” to get the excel file
with attendance information.
3.3.2.4. Teacher quiz
In quiz tab, teacher can view quiz list, refresh quiz list if wanted. By clicking on “Start quiz” button, a
window with content of quiz will be prompted. After setting the duration, teacher can start quiz by
clicking “Start Quiz” button.

A sub-tab for Quiz Statistic will appear when quiz is started. Information about quiz progress will be
displayed. Teacher can “Cancel quiz” or “End quiz” by clicking the corresponding button.
 When teacher receives the submitted quiz from students, teacher can click on the time to see
student result.

A window with student quiz result will appear.

3.4. Manage Lesson (for student only)

Student will be navigated to manage lesson screen by select “Manage Lesson” button.

Student can search lesson information of specific class with semester and subject filter by clicking
“Search” button.
 By clicking on presented lesson, information of corresponding class like Join/Leave time, Exam result
will be presented in Class Result Area.

3.5. Manage Student (for teacher only)

Teacher will be navigated to manage student screen by select “Manage Student” button.

Student can search all student information of specific slot with semester, subject and slot filter by
clicking “Search” button.

By providing search term in “Search Student” area, all presented student results will be filtered with
search term.

By clicking on presented student, information of corresponding student like Join/Leave time, Exam
result will be presented in Class Result Area.
3.6. Manage Quiz (for teacher only)
3.6.1. Quiz List
Teacher will be navigated to manage quiz screen by select “Manage Quiz” button.

By providing search term in “Search Student” area, all presented student results will be filtered with
search term.

Teacher can refresh quiz list by clicking on button.

3.6.2. Quiz Template
By clicking on “View template Create Quiz” question in Manage Quiz Screen, a window with a
template document named “SampleQuiz” will open. Teacher can use this template to create quizzed
then import. Quiz document file with wrong template will not create questions.

3.6.3. Create Quiz

3.6.3.1. Create Quiz with Prepared file
Teacher can import prepared quiz by click on import file area, which is has background as the
following image:

3.6.3.2. Create Quiz Manually

By clicking on “Create New Quiz” button, teacher will be navigated to Create Quiz Manually Screen.

In Question Bank Area, all questions will be showed with filter by semester, subject, topic and
privacy status.
 By clicking on wanted question, the selected question will be added to on-creating quiz.

Teacher need to specify quiz name and privacy status then click “Save” button to create quiz.

3.6.2.3. Add new question

Teacher can add new question by clicking on “Add question” button.

A new window for adding question will be appeared.

 Teacher need to provide information about subject group, subject, topic, privacy status, type and
content of the question to create new question by clicking “Save” button.

The button can be used to add image to question. A question can have many images.

The button can be used to add image to answer. Each answer can have only 1 image.

Empty answer will not be add to the question.

If teacher selects “create other”, new empty “Add new question” window will appear after the
successful creation.

3.6.4. View Detail Quiz

By clicking on button, a window which shows quiz questions will be opened.
3.6.5. Edit Quiz
By clicking on button in quiz list, a window which is similar with Create Quiz Manually Screen will
be appeared, but it has the functionality of editing quiz.

Edited quiz will be saved after clicking “Save” button.

3.6.6. Delete Quiz
By clicking on button in quiz list, a confirmation window will appear. If selected “Yes” button, the
quiz will be deleted.
