the comfort of your home. Stay at Home, Dream, and Wake Up in The Philippines.
Magandang Umaga, Maayong buntag, Naimbag a Bigat, Marhay na Aga, Maayong Aga,
Good Morning Philippines, Good morning Theresians!
Welcome to our Virtual Celebration of World Tourism Day 2021 with the Theme:
“Tourism for Inclusive Growth”
This is Hannah Lisa E. Callejas, third year student of Bachelor of Science in Tourism
Management, your host for today.
“God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him”, according to John
Piper.
Before we will formally open, let us glorify God above else with a prayer and please
remain standing for the Philippine National Anthem.
-------PRAYER--------
-------NATIONAL ANTHEM------
According to Eric Hoffer, “In a time of drastic change, it is the learners who inherit the
future. The learned usually find themselves equipped to live in world that no longer
exist”.
Good morning once again! We are now live via facebook and zoom. I know that
everyone is excited and eager to learn and enjoy in this activity. Let us all embrace the
new normal and be educated by this momentous event.
At this juncture, let us all welcome Mrs. Seanna Mae Detoyato, Dean, St. Therese MTC
College for an opening remarks.
-----OPENING REMARKS-----
Thank you so much ma’am for an inspiring message to all of us. Rest assured that
whatever we will be learning from this activity will serve as a motivation for us to do
best in achieving our goals as the future of this society.
As what William Coffin Jr once said, “Diversity maybe the hardest thing for a society to
live with, and perhaps the most dangerous thing for a society to be without.”
Sit back, relax and open your minds, as we are about to watch a Multi-Cultural Diversity
Positivity video.
------MULTI CULTURAL POSITIVITY VIDEO------
Indeed, cultural differences should not separate us from each other, but rather cultural
diversity brings a collective strength that can benefit all of humanity.
At this moment let us give the floor to the 4th year students for a Cultural Video
Contest.
All I can say is WOW!!! Let us all give these people a round of applause for preparing
such remarkable presentation. You all did best!
Before we proceed to the next part of our program I would like to share something to
you.
While I was writing and researching for my script for this event, there’s this quote from
Voltaire which was written in question form that caught my attention and I thought I
need to share this with you all, and here it is, “Is there anyone so wise as to learn by
the experience of others?”, I think the answer here is YES! Because every single person
has the power to change the world and help people!
Today an astounding person of credibility will share his experiences to all of us.
Everyone let us all welcome our Guest Speaker, Mr. Gilbert “Bombette” G. Martin, Head
of Provincial Tourism Office. Let us all give him a resounding applause.
------GUEST SPEAKER------
Thank you so much Sir Bombette for an empowering message to all of us. I know that
my fellow Theresians are as thankful as I am because having you as our speaker made
us appreciate that Tourism has the ability to drive inclusive development and the role it
plays in promoting respect while generating opportunities for many millions across the
globe.
At this point in time, if you have questions or clarifications, Sir Bombette here is now
ready for an open forum. And to act as the moderator may we call in Ms. Cherry Joy
Sulit.
-----OPEN FORUM-----
Thank you sir Bombette and to everyone who participated and raised their questions
during the open forum. I think everyone has been clarified from their queries, so, to
express our gratitude for Sir Gilbert’s expertise and time spent with us today, may we
request our College Dean, ma’am Seanna Mae Detoyato, to give the token and present
the certificate of appreciation to our guest speaker.
-----CERTIFICATE-----
At this instant, let us all make our chat box as lively as we are now, so, everyone is
requested to use their keyboards and exercise our brain cells for we are about to
answer some Tourism Trivia.
------TOURISM TRIVIA------
God job everyone! You are as participative as we were during the face-to-face classes.
Let’s be more motivated!
This time, let us give our freshmen their time to shine as they are to present to us their
dream job through a poster.
Our freshmen showcased their inner Da Vinci, you guys are such a great artist! You
have put a lot of work into your pieces and it has paid off. With that effort and skills, I
know that one day you will surely achieve your dream Job. Congratulations!
Life isn’t perfect but your outfit can be, so, always dress like it’s the best day of your
life.
The next part of our program will give chance to those who miss wearing their OOTD
during travels.
Here are the videos of students who qualified for the final presentation.
------Travel at Home------
Those outfits look like something Hollywood Stars would wear! Fashionably amazing!
Since we are not yet allowed to have face-to-face classes and visit our beloved school
St. Therese MTC College La Fiesta Site, here is Alecxandrea Ysabelle Tabligan, 3rd year
BSTM student for a School Tour Video.
I know that every one of us misses our school right? So through this School Tour Video,
we somehow take a glimpse into our beautiful Campus.
------ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS------
Congratulations everyone and of course to all the winners. We all did our very best.
------CLOSING REMARKS------
Always end your day with a positive thought. No matter how things are, tomorrow is
another chance to make things better and suddenly you know it’s time to start
something new and trust the magic of new beginnings.
To our College Dean, Ma'am Seanna, thank you for this opportunity to learn new things
which we can apply in our lives.
Because twenty years from now we will be more disappointed by the things we didn’t
do than by the things we did do. So we must throw off the bowlines, sail away from the
safe harbour and catch the trade winds in our sails. Explore, Dream, Discover, because
travelling leaves us speechless then turns us into a storyteller.
