PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1 EXAM

I.TRUE OR FALSE: Write PRACTICAL if the statement is true, otherwise write RESEARCH if it is false.

1. Research requires you to inquire or investigate about your chosen research topic by asking
questions that will make you engage yourself in top-level thinking strategies.
2. One of the purposes of research is to improve your reading and writing skills.
3. Quantitative research requires non-numerical data.
4. Qualitative research involves measurement of the data.
5. In a qualitative research, the reality is conditioned by society and people’s intentions are
involved in explaining cause-effect relationships.
6. Ethnography is the study of particular cultural group to get a clear understanding of its
organizational set-up, internal operation and lifestyle.
7. Research studies happen in any field of knowledge.
8. The three basic research approaches are positive, naturalistic, and triangulation.
9. The Scientific approach is people oriented.
10. To become naturalistic in conducting your research study, you must collect data in controlled
ways through questionnaires or structured interview.
11. The naturalistic approach lets you present things quantitively through verbal language.
12. The scientific approach makes you express and records your findings quantitively.
13. Considered as soft sciences are all subjects aligned with business and all those focused on
helping professions such as Nursing, Counseling, Physical Therapy, and the like.
14. Considered as soft sciences are STEM and natural sciences.
15. The mixed method of research happens only in a quantitative research.
