Task 2: Reflective Essay/Mind Map or Graphic Organizer

Carefully go through Reading Materials 5 and 6. You will prepare a learning plan

contextualized to the applying the previously acquired principles of outcomes

based education and principles of teaching and learning Please take note of the

writing conditions, elements to be completed, and expectations that follow.

Part 1: Reflective Essay

A lesson plan plays an important role to both the teachers and students. It

will serve as a guide to the teachers, for what students need to learn, how it will

be taught, and how learning will be measured. Lesson plan helps teachers be

more effective in the classroom. Making a lesson plan is very important, because

it will serve as a teacher’s preparation for that certain day. Lesson plan helps the

teacher, because it contains the lesson for the class, what activities will the

students perform and how the learning takes place. Lesson plan also makes sure

to maintain the main elements of the lessons and to maximize the classroom time.

Lesson plan plays a critical role to us teachers, because it serves as our guide and

outline for the lesson and to the classroom. Making a lesson plan is important to
us educators so it is important to give time, effort and mind in constructing a plan

for the lesson, because this will be our guide nor outline. As the teacher, I will

consider the objectives and goals that I want my students to achieve at the end

of the lesson. Considering the objectives, it plays a critical role not just for me, but

also for my students because by the help of these objectives, they can see the

expected goal or outcomes they should achieve.

The other things that I will consider in making a lesson plan is maximizing the

time we have in the classroom. In elementary the usual hours for one subject is 1

hour or sometimes 5 minutes, so it is important to maximize the lesson to the class

time. Lesson planning makes a teacher effective inside a classroom, because it

makes them be organized and prepared for the lesson. So making a lesson plan

is an effective step for the teachers, not just for them but also for the students

because the lesson plan is like their guide and goal until the end of the lesson. You

will know if the lesson plan is effective, if your students successfully achieve the

objectives and goals your set for them. One important part of the lesson plan is

the assessment or the evaluation, wherein in this part the students will answer

some questions that is connected to the topic that you’ve discuss. In this portion,

you can see if the students really grasp nor understand your lesson or not. By this

you can really say if your lesson plan is truly effective. The purpose of a lesson plan

is to help both teachers and students, to achieve their certain goal in the

classroom. A lesson plan is a teachers daily nor weekly guide for his /her class. It
includes here what students need to learn, how it will be taught, and how learning

will takes place. This lesson plan provides an objectives for the students that can

help them to be more motivated and to already know, what is their expected

outcomes or goal. Planning your lesson will not just help the teachers to be

prepared in their whole day class, but it can also help the organization of the

classroom management. Considering the important contexts in lesson planning

can give us teachers a lot of benefits when it comes to teaching, especially to

this occurring pandemic and new normal.

It is necessary to consider the essential contexts, because once the students

finally come back to school and have face to face classes, the classroom

demographic will be lessen and the class hours either. So even though that these

things will be limited, we teachers can have an assurance that our students still

learn and cope up the context in the lesson. Just in case that face-to-face classes

continue in the midst of the pandemic, I’m sure many students will not get used

to the new rules in their school. So as the teacher, the first step I will take to ensure

that learning takes place in this new normal, is I will greet them first and I will make

sure they are comfortable before I start my teaching. We all know that it is hard

to focus on learning especially if you are uncomfortable and anxious, so as the

teacher, I’ll make sure that my students are well. Once I have made sure that they

are in ready and comfortable, I will start teaching and I will pay attention to each

of my students to make sure they are learning.
