This document provides steps to solve harmonization problems between multiple ECDIS units on a vessel: 1) Check the sync configuration in the "Sync Config" menu to ensure all ECDIS units are grouped together correctly. 2) Check the sync status in the "Sync Status" menu and look for potential issues like all units showing as "must send" or "must receive". 3) If sync status shows an error or harmonization problems exist, reset the status, restart all units, and manually initiate a sync from the ECDIS with the most up-to-date charts.

How to solve harmonize problem

Step1：Check Sync Config


Click “CHARTS” tab.

Click “Sync Config”.

Please confirm that all ECDIS units are


included in same group.

Left picture is the setting of No.2


ECDIS.
No.2 ECDIS is grouped with No.1
ECDIS, No.3 ECDIS, No.1 Chart Radar
and No.2 Chart Radar.

No.4 ECDIS is AMS in this vessel.


So, it is not included.
Step2：Check Sync Status
Click “CHARTS” tab.

Click “Sync Status”.

Check “Current Status”.

Case1
“none” in all ECDIS units → OK

Case2

“must send” in ECDIS unit which has latest

chart and “must receive” in other ECDIS units


→ OK

** Case2 means ECDISs are harmonizing now.

After harmonizing, “Current Status” become

Case1 condition (none).

So, if Case2 condition continues over 30

minutes, it may be NG.


** “Current Status” doesn’t change
automatically.
So, please close window and open “Sync
Status” at proper intervals to confirm
“Current Status”.
Case3
“must send” in all ECDIS units → NG

Case4
“must receive” in all ECDIS units →
NG

Step3：Manual harmonize
If “Current Status” is NG or you have harmonize problem, please carry out below
procedure.

Click “Reset Status” in all ECDIS


units.
Click “OK” in all ECDIS units.

Then restart the equipment in all


ECDIS units.

Click “Urge Sync” in the ECDIS which


has latest chart.

This means manual harmonize.


Click “OK”.

Harmonize starts.

Left picture is harmonize from No.1


ECDIS to other ECDIS units.

Harmonize is carried out one by one.

No.1 ECDIS is harmonizing with No.3


ECDIS in left picture.

Left picture is No.3 ECDIS in


harmonize with No.1 ECDIS.
