Climate Change and Global Warming

The document discusses potential impacts of climate change denial over various timeframes if current warming trends continue. Within 100 years, the worst case scenario is that the environment could be completely destroyed with no life remaining due to issues like oxygen depletion from deforestation. The document also notes that while some business sectors and overpopulated nations may see short-term benefits, ultimately no life on Earth benefits in the long run from continued global warming as destruction is the expected outcome.

SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, AND SOCIETY

What can people and nations do to fix global warming? Give five contributions you can
personally achieve and three potential contributions on a national or international scale.

What can people do to fix global warming?

Personal contribution: (What can I do?)

1. Plant trees
2. Reduce water waste
3. Pull the plugs when not in use
4. Use energy efficient appliances
5. Eat less meat

National or International scale: (What can they do?)

1. Encourage the use of renewable energy to every household and to the
majority of the nation.
2. Educate people and encourage them to avoid things that contribute to global
warming.
3. Invest to renewable energy things such as solar panels and wind mills.
If climate change denial persists, what could possibly happen to the Earth and
humanity after 20, 50 and 100 years considering the current trend?

Worst scenario that could happen after 100 years if the global warming continues
is that the environment could completely destroyed and no life would be left. One
of the worst scenarios, aside from the increase in the temperature, is the diminish
of oxygen due to deforestation and continues destruction of organisms that gives
oxygen. According to the study, we, humans predominantly use oxygen from
marine plants and plant-like organisms. Imagine destroying all of it, with the current
population of the world, no one could survive. If we continue to destroy the nature,
nature cannot save us in the future. We need the trees, plants, animals for food,
more than it needs us. They can live without humans, but us, humans cannot live
without it. Without humanity, soon, there will be no human at all. People already
get too much from the nature. People destroyed mountains to build buildings.
These buildings cannot save us. The possible consequences of climate change is
beyond from what we can imagine; the kind of death we will never want to
experience. An immediate action and everyone's effort is necessary to save the
environment. All depends on human.

Who will be the winners and the losers of global warming?

In viewing the short term, the one who will mostly benefit is the business sectors.
Business man always sees opportunities in every negative circumstance
happening. They might create a product, services, equipment, and sell it to the
public to save their lives against global warming. Other nations can also be
winners. Global warming can increase mortality rate because of health-related
issues, and an increase in mortality rate to overpopulated nations is actually a win
situation. Climate change can also push businesses or governments to acquire
labor for environmental projects, thus, giving people employment.

However, on a broader scale, on the long-term perspective, no life on Earth

actually benefits. Everyone is losers if global warming continues. Destruction is the
expected outcome. Health, safety, life, future will be at stake.
