Sentences with inverted subject and verb ( V + S )


Invertion adalah membalikkan subject dan verb. Biasanya hasil inversi akan
membentuk pertanyaan. Dan juga merupakan penekanan/pernyataan dalam sebuah
kalimat.

He can go to the movies.


Can he go to the movies?
She was sick yesterday.
Was she sick yesterday?
He goes to the movie.
Does he go to the movie?
We found the treasure
Did we find the treasure?

1. Invert subject and verb with place expressions

Place expressions + V + S
In the classroom were some old desks. = some old desks were in the classroom

conditional sentence yaitu berupa pengharapan, penganndaian, dan
penyesalan.
if simple present, simple future (if S V1, S will/shall V1 O) type 1: pengharapan
if you love me, I will love you
if you give me money, I will send my book

if simple past, past future (if S V2 O, S Would/Should V1 O) type 2;


pengandaian
if I were in a position to help, I would help you

if past perfect, past future perfect (if S Had V3 O, S Would/should Have V3 O)


type 3; penyesalan
if you had met me, I would have visited you

Were I in a position to help, I would help you.


Hilangkan if nya dulu.
Kemudian baliklah subject dan verb nya.
