Operation Sheet Terminal Identification of lighting system circuit diagrams

Tools and Materials:


1. Multimeter
2. Headlight switch (combination switch)
3. circuit diagram
4. vehicle or lighting board with all full parts(lamp, lamp holder, switches, fuses ,etc)
Steps and Procedures:
1. identity Headlight switch (combination switch) terminal
2. understand all lighting system circuit from circuit diagrams

Combination Switch Terminal


HOW TO TEST/CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH
1. All Switch Off Position
 Position Dimmer switch lever to Lo position
With Contact:

Dimmer switch Lo and E

Hazard/Signal switch B2 and X

 To determine Lo and E bring switch lever to Upward position


LO and E will brought to OFF position

 To determine B2 and X bring Hazard switch to ON Position Upward


B2 and X will brought to OFF position

2. To test/check Hi and Lo/E


 Position dimmer switch lever downward with contact Hi and Lo /E
3. To test/check Pass and Hi/Lo/E
 Position dimmer switch lever Upward with spring action then with
Contact Pass and Hi/Lo/E

4. To test/check B1 and B2/X


 Position Hazard switch to ON Position Upward with contact B1 and B2/X
5. To test/check Signal L and F
 Position signal switch lever to L forward position with contact L and F
6. To test/check R and L/F
 Position signal switch lever to R rearward Position with contact R and L/F
NOTE: Position Hazard switch to OFF Position

7. To test/check Park/Tail and E


 Position head light switch to first click with contact Park/Tail and E
8. To test/check Head and Park/Tail/E
 Position Head light switch to second click with contact Head and Park/Tail/E
9. To test/check Horn
 Tap wire with the other test probe and the other to the probe to the ground
 Push the Horn button switch
 With contact Horn and ground/Steering column housing.
NOTE: To determine common terminal follow this procedure

L1 and L2 Okay L3 and L1 Okay L2 and L1 Okay

L1 and L3 Okay L3 and L2 X L2 and L3 X

Most number of contacts [okay] will be the common


Brake light, back-up Light and horn Circuit diagram
