Stage 1 – Desired Results

For this quarter, the learners should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the characteristic features the Romantic
Era music and connect the development of the period to the historical-cultural events of the time.

Situation: Students will display their talents and skills in music by playing an instrument or singing or using modern
technology like electronic devices.
Product/Performance and Purpose:
Students will perform a fragment of a selected Romantic Era piece to show that they know something about this period.
Standards & Criteria for Success:
The performance should showcase the composition(s) of the famous Romantic Era composers discussed. It should only
be a short performance; playing the entire piece is not necessary. For vocal music,short songs can be used.
Students should be able to simplify difficult pieces into simple melodies.
Using specialized apps in music is allowed for the performance such as synthesia, garage band, etc.

Stage 3 – Learning Plan

Learning Activities: What sequence of teaching and learning will equip students to engage with, develop and
demonstrate the desired understandings?
 Creative group activities such as classroom presentations, role playing, reporting, Q&A discussions and film
showing.
 Attending concerts or live performances about Romantic Era music. (For example: Cultural events held at
Silliman University by the Silliman University Culture and Arts Council)
 Performance tests at the end of the quarter
