NARRATIVE REPORT FOR MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

OF ONLINE CLASS AND ON THE STREAMLINE OF
CURRICULUM MAP AND CURRICULUM COVERAGE
REPORT USINGTHE MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING
COMPETENCIES
I’m handling Grade 8 and 10 students consisting of 8 sections , those 8
sections are all in an online class system.
We all know that teaching is a noble profession because we, teachers must
go beyond to the fullest of having a great effort to deliver a good quality of
education to educate their students. Because of this pandemic , the
government with the aid of Department of Education officially announced that
this school year , the mode or way to deliver the lessons for the students are
online/modular or what we called “blended learning” . We all know that these
kind of systems are foreign to us. Teachers and students are still coping to
these system. It has been seven months since we started our school year at
Rizal College of Taal. Our lesson is aligned to the new curriculum released by
the Department of Education for this school year which is what we called
MELCs. The Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) is very much
aligned to the suggested Content Standard and Performance standard in
which the time duration is also a factor of achieving the desired outcomes.
Some lessons take less than a week but most of the lessons consumed one
or almost two weeks. As for my subject, Mathematics, it is hard for my
students to cope up with the lesson especially when it comes to arduous
calculations. With the help of MELCs the lesssons are now equally divided, the
most essential topics only are included in our lesson for the whole year.
Before, I have experienced struggles in adapting this new normal set-
up such as sometimes I encountered poor internet connection that is the
major dilemma for online class, as a teacher I will think various strategies that
can help my students cope up with these set-up. It is very hard to please all
students to attend online classes especially those in the remote areas but I
always think alternative ways to deliver my lesson, for example, I uploaded a
video of my lesson on my facebook page for those students who failed to
attend .This set-up wouldn’t be possible without the help of Quipper, it can
help the teachers to disseminate the lessons quickly. Honestly, I’m still in the
progress in exploring the another possible help of Quipper in my lesson. But
despite of all of these I consider myself as an army, who is always on fight. An
army who is willing to sacrifice everything just to win the battle, as a teacher
we sacrifice ourselves willingly just to give our students the quality education
they deserved. In this school year I can proudly say that I learned a lot
especially this helps me become more computer literate .

All in all, I could tell that I achieved and learned something about this
new learning system despite of all the difficulties encountered.
