Levels of Technology Integration:

X Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.

☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

- Visual Learners
- Auditory Learners
- ELL Students- multiple languages and the ability to rewind and replay the videos.

Lesson idea implementation:

The teacher will introduce the students to a study of Martin Luther King Jr. using the BrainPOP video.
Students will be asked to fill in guided notes. After the video, the students will list important events in Martin
Luther King Jr.s’ life on the whiteboard. We will continue to discuss important attributes of Martin Luther
King Jr. until each student has spoken.

The end goal is for students to be able to create their own speech about something they are passionate
about, and present their topic and speech on a Seesaw post. Model speeches, both strong and weak
examples, will be provided to students to support their success within the lesson. Students will be supported
in this lesson by working with a partner for their final product. Students will be paired up based upon their
Funds of KNowledge and common interests. If students so chose, they may work independently as well.

Reflective Practice: I think the activity I have planned will help students get a good basis of information and
be able to explain who Martin Luther King Jr. is. I can further the learning by having students read the “I Have
A Dream” speech, and analyze it with a partner, line by line. I can also further the learning by having a peer
discussion about how they feel about the topic, and ask the students if they believe Martin Luther King Jr.s’
dream has been achieved today. I would then have the students go on to make a Prezi Presentation about
their own dream to present to the class.
