Learning Goals - by the end of this activity, students will be expected to:
• learn and apply the SPICE design process to find a solution to the assignment challenge
• learn and apply decision making tools and techniques to assist with the SPICE design process
• communicate their learning through a typed report proceeding the completion of the challenge

Assignment Objective: In this unit students will be introduced to the SPICE design process. In this assignment, students will be exploring how the SPICE design process is used for problem solving in real life situations. Students will then apply their learning of the SPICE design process to the paper airplane
challenge in order to develop a successful solution.

Construction (APP)

Followed material requirements and specifications


All four paper airplane models were constructed successfully as planned in the Investigation stage
Include initial and final photographs of design models - including brief description of changes made

Evaluation (APP)

Test fly all four design models against the problem a minimum of 5 times each
Results recorded for each flight result on the chart provided
Briefly describe steps taken to improve the performance of each design
