GRADUATE COLLEGE ADMISSION TEST (GCAT)

The Graduate College Admission Test (GCAT) is a general test that is used for
admission into most graduate degree programs in Philippine Normal University
(PNU). It is used to assess the suitability of applicants for graduate-level study across
many different subject areas.

Administered by the Office of Admissions, the GCAT examines verbal

reasoning, quantitative and analytical reasoning. The admission test for our graduate
degree programs are just one facet of your application; PNU will also examine your
transcripts, recommendations, and other factors when making an admissions
decision.

If you have done GCAT before, you might know the paper test. But in order to
address the needs of our external stakeholders, the exam is now being administered
online. Online GCAT is exactly the same test as paper-based GCAT, but instead of
writing your answers on paper, you will type them on a computer.

For LiSQuP scholars, the result of your admission test will be used for profiling
purposes only and will not determine your qualification in the said scholarship or
your entry to PNU.

For applicants who will need special accommodation on the day of the
admission test, please contact the Office of Admissions via email at
[email protected] days before the scheduled exam.

During the exam day, applicants must ensure internet access for at least 4 hours
and good connectivity using a computer or tablet. The details of GCAT and your
credentials to access the portal will be sent to you few days before the exam.
