I. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

Cognitive : identify the different principles of speech writing


Affective : show patience by writing a speech draft
Psychomotor : map out the context of their speeches

II. TOPIC: Principles of Speech Writing

III. PROCEDURES:

A. Introduction:

1. Review/Drills:
 What is communication apprehension?
 What are the guidelines in overcoming communication anxiety?
 Why do we need to overcome communication anxiety?

2. Motivational Technique: Ask some of the students about the speeches they performed.
 What is your speech all about?
 Why did you choose that kind of topic?
 What preparations did you do for your speech?
 How did your speech go?
 What motivated you in delivering your speech?
 Are you satisfied on the way you have delivered your speech? Why or why
not?

B. Interaction (Presentation/Development of the Lesson)


Principles of Speech Writing
 Decide on an interesting topic
 Determine your audience and purpose.
 Know the time and place to deliver your speech
 Focus and organize your ideas logically.
 Find materials for your speech.
 Draft you speech.
The Thesis Statement
This contains the main idea of an essay. It contains at least two supporting points.
Examples:
1. Stress in the fast-food workplace has led to serious physical, psychological, and
emotional problems for employees.
2. Healthy lifestyle requires individual to get enough sleep, eat nutritiously, and exercise
regularly.

C. Integration:
