Consolidation Lessons 1 To 5 Drafts
Consolidation Lessons 1 To 5 Drafts
Consolidation is very important; its main purpose is for us to build relationship with the
people we are consolidating. That way, even if they are struggling in doing their
devotion or in attending church activities, they can‟t easily go out and vanish because
they have a relationship with you. As Paul Scanlon said, “Before the church is a place
the people go to, it was first a face”, People as they are starting in their faith, they have
higher tendency to continue on going to church if they have genuine relationship with
others inside the church; especially if those others are helping them in the new path
they‟ve decided to take. That‟s why it is important that we use our own stories in
consolidating them, pouring our life and our hearts to them to make them open their
hearts to us too; thus, creating a strong bond with them.
The first consolidation lesson is about “Sonship”. It must be done a day after they‟ve
decided to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior (e.g. Church event, altar call, Sunday
service, OVE). In able to build a foundation regarding this lesson, we must first have an
activity. The activity that follows may help us build our own unique way of consolidating
(in this lesson) for it to be more personal and closer to heart which will help us Console
and Solidify them (as mentioned in 5 Words that can be extracted from the word
Consolidate).
Activity
Write 3 stories of love and acceptance on a sheet of paper; it must be your own
experience when you are 1 to 7 years old. The stories must talk about relationships
between a parent and a child (e.g. father and son, grandmother and granddaughter,
guardian and children, teacher and student etc.). Note: Give them time to think and do
the activities. If they were not able to finish it, make it their assignment to be passed
next meeting.
Core Lesson
GOD looks at us as His children. And as of SIN, we‟ll help each other
as brothers and sisters in faith to overcome it through JESUS.
Objective
The objectives of this lesson are:
1. To Confirm Salvation – It is important to tell them that as a part of our family in
God, they are already saved as they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and
Savior.
2. Introduce them to Cell Life and Church Life – It is very important to share to
them about the Cell Life and Church Life and how important it is to our life as a
Christian.
Outline
1. Focal Point
2. Story 1
3. Story 2
4. Story 3
5. Key Verse
6. Challenge
7. Prayer
Elements
1. Focal Point
Appreciate: Appreciate them coming, their efforts and their time. Go back to the
things they did last time you‟ve met (e.g. Church event, altar call, Sunday
service, OVE). Talk about it a little.
You can introduce the verse after you tell your story. You can just recite the
verse to them saying, “God has lavished His love on us that He calls us His
children” and then show it to them in the Bible. You must only focus on the first
half of the verse because the next half is not substantial to the focal point. Be
careful not to make it sound scripted, just maintain your conversational voice
and let the conversation flow casually.
There are 3 Scripts that may help us to introduce the Key verse:
I have a favorite saying/quote…
I don‟t want to sound religious or churchy, but I have a verse that I really
want to share to you…
Can I share a verse?...
After you share the Key Verse you must relate the focal point and your stories
with it. It is important because it will help them understand the verse more. You
may start by comparing them to a child – weak in faith, easy to stumble and
normally make mistakes. Tell them you accept them like a father accepting a
child; that you understand where they came from; that they are not immediately
strong; and that you are willing to accompany them, be like a parent to them
and help them until they become strong. Afterwards, you may impart to them
the objectives of the lesson and the core lesson itself.
4. Challenge
Afterwards, we then share to them Matthew 18:19 which states that, “…if two of
you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my
Father in heaven.” and encourage them to agree in your prayer.
5. Prayer
Before praying, ask them about their needs so that you can pray for them, relate
to them the best you can. As you pray with them, start by quoting Matthew
18:19 word per word. And when you pray, stick to your focal point. Also quote
the verses to show an example of a powerful prayer to them. It is a preparation
for your next consolidation lesson.
Some of the powerful verses that can be included in prayers are Jeremiah 33:3a
saying “Call to me and I will answer you…”; 3 John 15:7, “If you remain in
me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for
you.”; as well as Matthew 18:19 as mentioned earlier.
Good day, I appreciate you came. I know you have things to do but you
chose to come here. Do you still remember the things you did in Church
(or other Church program) last time? (Let them answer and talk about it a
little. Do your best to have a fluid conversation with them). It‟s a
wonderful thing that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. And by
doing that, I am acknowledging you as a part of our family in Christ. We
are all part of a big family united by our faith in the Lord. And as you are
starting in this faith, you are starting like a baby. And so I am not
expecting you to be strong already. You may commit mistakes and that‟s
alright because you are just a child, and as a child, you are still weak in
faith.
It‟s like some time way back, I have a niece – a 2-year old child who
always go to my room and jump on me to wake me up. We were afraid
every time she‟s doing it because there was a small electric fan in my
room which was the same height as her. And so we told her to not enter
my room or come near the electric fan because she might get hurt badly.
And then one day I suddenly woke up by hear a child who‟s crying very
loud. Then I see a toppled electric fan and my niece with her blood in her
hands. What did I do? I get her, hug her, carry her, kiss her hand and
comfort her. Because if you love someone you will not be angry with them
as you see them hurting, you will not scold them if you are seeing them
suffering.
I have another story. I was in Manila when I go out of our house and saw
a group of children playing. One of the children was called out by his
mother commanding him to go home. And the child answered, “Wait,
please give me 15 minutes.” And then after some time the mother called
out again shouting, “The rain will start pouring out, go home already!”.
The child answered again, “Wait, 5 minutes more.” To cut the long story
short, after 10 minutes the mother goes out and went to the child. She
pinched his ear and dragged him home; and the child cried. Then I asked
myself why she did it only to her son and not to the other children. And
then I heard the mother when she was dragging her son saying: “Listen
to me because you might get sick, just let them play if they want get sick,
because I don‟t want you to get sick. I don‟t want you to not be able to go
to school tomorrow.” And then I realized that in our life, sometimes we go
through difficulties in life but it‟s not because God is angry at us.
You know there‟s a verse in the Bible in 1 John 3:1 saying, “God has
lavished His love on us that He calls us His children”. I‟ve seen you last
time when you accepted the challenge and go to the altar. I‟ve heard your
decision. You‟re just a baby; I‟m not expecting that you can overcome all
the temptations in life because you are just starting. You will make
mistakes, I understand and I will not be angry. So don‟t be ashamed to
me if you make mistakes to the point that you will not come to me. I
accept you like a father accepting a child. I understand where you came
from, you are not immediately strong. And so I am willing to accompany
you and help you until you become stronger, until you can be able to say
no to temptations because there are a lot of temptations in this world.
You will make mistakes, but my commitment to you is like the
commitment of God to me – I want to be a father (or mother or bigger
brother or bigger sister) to you.
And also because you are now a member of our family in Christ, you are
now saved. For it is because of Jesus‟ death on the cross for us and us
accepting Him as our Lord and Savior that we are cleansed of our sin and
reunited with our God the Father and are saved. I am also welcoming you
in our core family, our cell group. There we meet as a group, share our
problems and encourage one another as we go through it. And also to our
church family that is composed of different cells, including us. There we
meet every week to corporately pray for each other, give praise and
worship God and listen to His Words. These are very important in our life
as a Christian because it is our way of helping each other to overcome sin
through Jesus Christ. For it is because of sin that we get separated from
God, but it is because of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for us that we
are cleansed from our sins and that we become reunited with our God the
Father.
Hebrews 4:12
Consolidation lessons are arranged strategically to guide the new believer in learning
substantial lessons and help them build a strong foundation in their faith. The next
consolidation lesson is about Spiritual Growth. Our previous lesson is about Sonship
which, other than Fatherly love, also pertains to being a child. It is important that we
connect the previous lesson to the next as we begin our consolidation.
In this lesson, we can begin by recapping the previous lesson, them being a child and
are still weak in faith. And then as you relate to them you can ask them if, as a child,
they want to grow in their faith. It will also help if you share to them that you also start
from being a child in faith, like them.
We must also use stories on this Consolidation lesson as with the other lessons.
Speaking of stories, we must first have an activity. The activity that follows may help us
build our own unique way of consolidating this lesson for it to be more personal and
close to heart which will help us console and solidify them (as mentioned in 5 Words
that can be extracted from the word Consolidate).
Activity
Choose 3 verses and write each one a story in which you can testify how real this
specific verse is in your life. Give them time to think and do the activities.
Core Lesson
Objective
The objectives of this lesson are:
1. Devotion Format – It is important to teach them to make a Devotion. And to do
it, we must have a format; the easiest format to follow is MPCWA (Message –
Promise – Command – Warning – Application) and this is the devotion format we
have to teach them because it is the simplest. If we teach them the SOAP format
(Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer), they may get confused between
Observation and Application. We may introduce the SOAP format to them after
they have their Encounter. It would really help if we show them an example after
we teach them the MPCWA format.
2. Divine Guidance – It is very important to share to them that the one who is
giving us divine guidance is not us, his cell leader or primary leader nor our
pastor, but only God.
Outline
1. Focal Point
2. Story 1
3. Story 2
4. Story 3
5. Key Verse
6. Challenge
7. Prayer
Elements
1. Focal Point
Appreciate: Appreciate them coming, their efforts and their time. Talk a little
about what happened to them this week.
Acknowledge: Ask them about the things they have learned from the last
Consolidation lesson, “Sonship”. Remind them that they are like a child in our
family in Christ, weak and just starting in faith.
You can start without mentioning the focal point, or you can introduce your focal
point after you appreciate and acknowledge them. In some instances, you can
also introduce it after you tell your stories.
Before you share the verse, it is important to start it by building up from the last
lesson; that they are like a child which is not yet strong. Then excite them and
make them want to grow and be strong to be able to resist the temptations in
the world. And finally, share to them that it is through reading, listening and
understanding the Word of God – as well as knowing His promises from the Bible
and holding it to our hearts – that we become strong.
Afterwards, you can now share the verse and discuss every point in it one by one
in a timely manner and as short and straightforward as possible. You must relate
the focal point and the stories you previously told them as you go through those
points. When you‟re sharing, be careful not to make it sound scripted, just
maintain your conversational voice and let the conversation flow casually.
4. Challenge
This part is the time to encourage them in applying what they have learned from
the lesson we‟ve shared to them. Here we challenge them to read the book of
John, one chapter per day. Then we must teach them how to do a Devotion in
an MPCWA format and share them about the divine guidance (see Objectives of
the Lesson).
5. Prayer
Before praying, ask them about their needs so that you can pray for it, relate to
them the best you can. Also, remind them that when we pray, we must declare
the verses from the Bible to bring power to our prayer. And as you pray, stick to
your focal point. Also, don‟t forget to pray for their Spiritual Growth and that
they may find strength in the Lord to overcome temptations in this world. It is a
preparation for your next consolidation lesson.
Good day, I appreciate you came. I know you have things to do but you
chose to come here. So how was your week? (Let them answer and talk
about it a little. Do your best to have a fluid conversation). Do you still
remember what we‟ve talked about last week? ... Yes, it is about
“Sonship”; what have you learned from it? (Pause and let them answer
the question). Indeed, and because you are just starting, you are like a
child in our family in Christ, weak and needed help.
Have you ever heard of the phrase, “Lalampas ka na sa langit niyan” from
other people even as they see you holding a Bible? … Regarding that
note, let me say to you that we are more like a piggy bank. As we read
and study the Word of God, we place promises, words of hope, wisdom
and encouragement in our heart like how we place a coin in a Piggy Bank.
And so when tough times come in our lives, we‟ll have those things
(promises, words of hope, wisdom and encouragement) in our hearts
which can help us overcome our circumstances and become victorious in
life. And speaking of which do you know that there are more than 8,000
promises in the Bible in which we can hold in your hearts? These promises
will help you live an abundant life. How amazing is that! It is through
Jesus that we have access to these promises which are written in His
Words, the Bible.
I can attest that the Word of God is true and we can hold on to the
promises written in it because I experienced it in my life. Years ago I have
a friend whose mother has been hospitalized due to a tumor in her body.
Upon hearing it I remembered the verse James 5:14-15 which says, “Is
anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray
over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the
prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise
them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” And so I prepared to
go to the hospital with my brother and my church mates. I already soaked
my hand with oil before entering the hospital; I am very optimistic for I
believe that God will not back down on His Words. Just as we are
approaching the gate, the guard intercepted us and said, “Only one visitor
at a time is allowed.” I get a little frustrated because my plan was spoiled.
I have another story. Just recently my aunt has been wounded in her
lower leg just below her knee; and because she is diabetic, her wound got
worse to the point that the areas near her wound became black in color.
The medicine she was taking didn‟t have effect on her and my brother
who is a doctor said that in order to cure her, her lower leg must bet cut
down. But since she is diabetic, she will die. It pains me a lot so I prayed
a desperate prayer demanding the fulfillment of what God had said in the
Bible. I prayed with my brother, and as we agree to it I quote Matthew
18:18-19 word per word which states that “Truly I tell you, whatever you
bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth
will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth
agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father
in heaven.” And then I declare with faith, “I am binding the spirit of
sickness in my aunt and I release healing on her in Jesus‟ name!” A few
days later, we found out that her wounds are slowly becoming light in
color till it becomes pinkish and ultimately it healed!
Can I share one more? … There was a family who has one child. This child
wants to go to McDonalds and eat a burger and so he asked her mother.
Busy in her work, the mother said to his child to ask his father. And so the
child went to his father. His father, also busy at work, points him to his
mother. The child become sad yet determined so he go to his mother
asking the same thing and said that he was pointed to her by his father.
The mother, not wanting to prolong the conversation, told her son that
she will bring him to McDonalds next week. The child asked how many
days does one week have. The mother answered seven. And so the child
get so excited, he started counting down the days. Seven… Six… Five…
Four… Three… Two… One… The day he‟s waiting for finally came. Excited,
he goes to his mother. The irritated mother asked him why. He asked
back, “Are we going to McDonalds now?” The mother answered that she‟s
busy. The child replied, “But you said seven days and seven days have
already passed.” The mother immediately remembered what she told her
child and then brings the child to McDonalds.
Same as with us and God; when we ask Him and declare word per word
and with faith what He said in His Words as written in the Bible, He will
fulfill it. That is why it is very powerful to declare the verses when we are
praying because God will never back down on His words.
Do you remember our topic last week? That you are still a child who is not
yet strong? But let me tell you this, if you grow and get stronger you can
resist temptations in this crooked world that causes us to sin. Do you
want to be strong? Do you want to be able to resist those temptations? I‟ll
tell you how, it is through reading, listening and understanding the Word
of God – as well as knowing His promises from the Bible and holding it
into our hearts – that we become strong.
You may ask yourself what‟s there in His Words that would make us
strong. Then let me tell you about what is written in Hebrew 4:12, “For
the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged
sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it
judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Then explain every
points shortly, you must focus on why the Word is strengthening us as we
are absorbing it).
Are you ready to apply what you have learned? Do you want to grow and
be stronger? Then I am challenging you to read the book of John one
chapter per day and do a Devotion. (Explain to them the Devotion Format
as explained earlier and do an example of a devotion to them, see
Objectives of the Lesson). Also remember, that the one who is giving us
divine guidance is not me, your cell leader nor our pastor, but only God
through His revelations – one of which is through your Devotions.
The first two consolidation lessons are about Sonship and Spiritual Growth respectively.
We‟ve shared these two lessons to them using our testimonies and the Word of God,
conveying the message to them that they are just starting their spiritual life like a child
and in order to grow spiritually, they must know Him more by reading His Words. One
of the main reasons why they must do it is to resists temptations that may cause them
to sin, which we‟ve already mentioned to them in the previous consolidation lesson.
That is why the next consolidation lesson will be about “Overcoming Temptation”.
As we share the said lesson, we must make them feel that it is not embarrassing to
share our past failures anymore. And how could we make them feel that other than
reminding them that we are forgiven and sanctified by the blood of Christ? It is through
letting them know who we were and what filthy things we did before we knew God and
even our failures after knowing Him. And also, we must share how we overcome those
past temptations through His Words and His help.
Attorney Federico Tancongco once said, “Your mess is your message. Your test is your
testimony.” As they see us not being embarrassed about our past failures anymore by
sharing it to them with great confidence, there will be a higher possibility for them to
open up to us. It‟s our goal to connect to them and so we must not hold back and
share our biggest failures. It‟s not about our dignity anymore, it‟s about winning them
for Christ. After all, that‟s our old self and that does not exist anymore. And as per our
dignity, it‟s already been secured by the Blood of Christ, there‟s nothing to lose.
It‟s time for these mess and test to be put to use as a message and testimony for the
greater glory of the Lord our God!
Activity
Write 3 stories of how you fail before and how you overcome it (the bigger the failure,
the better) on a sheet of paper; it must be your own experiences about fear, lust, vices,
etc. Give them time to think and do the activities.
Core Lesson
JESUS – POWER
Objective
The objectives of this lesson are:
1. To Overcome Temptation – The reason why we share our past failures from
those temptations and how we overcome those temptations is for them to open
up their struggles to us. And as they confess their struggles to us, they may
know themselves what it is to overcome (by not denying it anymore) and then
the power of the Word of God and the Blood of Christ will be at work in them to
overcome those temptations they‟ve confessed. Of course, how could they be
healed if they don‟t confess their struggles to the Healer?
Outline
1. Focal Point
2. Story 1
3. Story 2
4. Story 3
5. Key Verse
6. Challenge
7. Prayer
Elements
1. Focal Point
Appreciate: Appreciate them coming, their efforts and their time. Talk a little
about what happened to them this week.
Acknowledge: Ask them about the things they have learned from the last
Consolidation lesson, “Spiritual Growth”. Remind them that they are like a child
who is not yet strong, and so in able to grow and be strong enough to resist
temptations, they must get to know the Lord and His promises through reading
His Words.
Validate: Ask them the question “Have you been tempted?” Give them time to
answer and if they‟re comfortable with it, let them share one situation in their life
in which they were tempted. If they‟re not comfortable answering, don‟t push it.
If they share, relate to them and share some of your past temptations connected
to it. It also helps to share that it is normal for all of us to be tempted and most
of the time we give in to temptation.
You can start without mentioning the focal point, or you can introduce your focal
point after you appreciate and acknowledge them. In some instances, you can
also introduce it after you tell your stories.
2. Story 1
This is the moment you tell them the history of temptations and of sins. You can
start by introducing who is Lucifer – his beauty (Ezekiel 28:12-17) and how he
fell from heaven (Luke 10:18). Make them visualize everything you are saying to
them by describing every detail as best and as imaginative as you can.
3. Story 2
Now that you‟ve introduced Lucifer, tell them that he is like the elder son who
had the beauty, splendor and favor from God. This elder son had been overcome
by pride and the temptation to govern everything, having the idea that he is
magnificent he tried to overthrow God; but instead he was thrown by God from
heaven. And then the younger son came, us! God made heaven and earth for us,
He has made us in His own image, He made us a little lower than Him, He made
us rule the earth (Genesis 1:26-27) and he gave us the authority over all things
in the earth including Lucifer and his legions of rebellious angels. That makes
Lucifer very envious and very angry, like an elder son who has been stripped off
of everything and in which even better ownership has been given to his younger
brother including the authority over him. Tell them how angry Lucifer is to us
and that he is out to get us, that‟s why he bombards us with a lot of temptations
that will make us sin when we give in to it. And if we get trapped by these sins,
we‟ll also be doomed like him in eternal damnation in which God sentenced him
to suffer.
4. Story 3
After you tell those two stories, it‟s time to tell them your own experience
regarding overcoming temptations. The story must be from your own experience
of how you overcame fear, lust or vices. You may choose one from the stories
we did in the Activity. Upon choosing, be sensitive to what story they really need
according to their earlier responses and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
You can share two or even three stories according to what the Holy Spirit is
saying and if time permits. Remember that it is not what we share, but it is how
we share it.
Before you share the verse, it is important to start it by building up from the last
lessons; that they are like a child who are not yet strong, and so in able to grow
and be strong enough to resist temptation, they must get to know the Lord and
His promises through reading His Words. Then excite them and make them want
to be able to resist the temptations in the world which Lucifer is using to trap us
in sin, shame and an empty life.
You can start sharing the key verses with “I have another verse to share to
you…” and then you recite the Key Verses and show it to them in the Bible. The
Key Verses are “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to
mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[ beyond what you
can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you
can endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13) and “Submit yourselves, then, to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Discuss every points in
the Key Verses one by one in a timely manner and as short and straightforward
as possible. You must relate the focal point and the stories you previously told
them as you go through those points. When you‟re sharing, be careful not to
make it sound scripted, just maintain your conversational voice and let the
conversation flow casually.
6. Challenge
This part is the time to encourage them to share the struggles or temptations
they are facing right now. When they share their struggles, relate to them and
share briefly your experience connected to it (if there is) and how you overcome
it; also, let them realize that it really is possible to overcome. Let them feel that
you understand them and love them despite of it and say to them that you will
help them as they overcome it. It will help if you say that every time they are
being tempted, call you and you will encourage them not to succumb on it the
best you can and that you will pray for them on the spot.
7. Prayer
Before praying, ask them about their needs so that you can pray for it, relate to
them the best you can. And as you pray, stick to your focal point. Also, don‟t
forget to pray for the struggles they‟ve shared earlier and that God will give them
strength to overcome it. Bless them in every aspect of their life; it is a
preparation for your next consolidation lesson.
Good day, I appreciate you came. I know you have things to do but you
chose to come here. So how was your week? (Let them answer and talk
about it a little. Do your best to have a fluid conversation). Do you still
remember what we‟ve talked about last week? … Yes, it is about “Spiritual
Growth”; what have you learned from it? (Pause and let them answer the
question). Indeed it is through the Word of God that we can be strong in
our faith that we may be able to resist temptations in this world.
Have you been tempted? (Pause and let them answer). Can you share
one moment in your life in which you have been tempted? (Pause and let
them answer; relate to their answer and share some of your past
temptations connected to it). Indeed, all of us get tempted; what you‟ve
just said also happens in all of us for temptations are common to
mankind.
Let me tell you a story of a man named Lucifer. (Describe Lucifer and
explain why God had thrown him from heaven). You can read Ezekiel
28:12-17 and Luke 10:18 if you want to know more.
Lucifer is like the elder son of God who had the beauty, splendor and
favor from His. However, he had been overcome by pride and the
temptation to govern everything, having the idea that he is magnificent he
tried to overthrow God; but instead he was thrown by God from heaven.
And then the younger son came, us! God made heaven and earth for us,
He has made us in His own image, He made us a little lower than Him, He
made us rule the earth as mentioned in Genesis 1:26-28 and he gave us
the authority over all things in the earth including Lucifer and his legions
of rebellious angels. That makes Lucifer very envious and very angry, like
an elder son who has been stripped off of everything and in which even
better ownership has been given to his younger brother including the
authority over him. He is very angry at us, he is out to get us, that‟s why
he bombards us with a lot of temptations that will make us sin when we
give in to it. And if we get trapped by these sins, we‟ll also be doomed like
him in eternal damnation in which God sentenced him to.
I have another story. When I was in United Satats of America, I was left
alone in a big room on a house of one of our family friend. It was past
midnight; I woke up and feel like somebody is watching me. And because
I was scared, I cover myself with the bed sheet. Unfortunately, that bed
sheet is very thick because it is being used as a blanket during winter. I
have sweat all over my body and can‟t sleep. Feeling so hot and wet I
look at my watch wishing that it would be morning already, but it‟s around
2 to 3 A.M.
Are you ready to apply what you have learned? Do you want to be strong
enough to resist temptation? Then I am challenging you to share the
temptations or struggles you are facing right now and let me help you,
coach you, as you overcome those temptations in your life (Pause, let
them share and relate to them). I know you can now overcome it, for it is
through Jesus that we have access to the power to overcome
temptations. If ever you are being tempted, just call me immediately or
text me and I‟ll call you. We‟ll pray together and I will encourage you to
resist it. I‟ll do my best anytime, anywhere because you are my
brother/sister and you are very important to me.
Galatians 3:13
In the first three lessons we‟ve already taught them a lot of things about God; that He
is a God who is also a loving Father to us, a God who fulfills what He said in His Words
and a God who gives us strength to overcome temptations. Now we must teach them
that as we follow Him (e.g. deepen our relationship with Him, talking to Him through
our daily devotion, overcoming temptations, etc.), it doesn‟t mean that we are to live a
poor and lacking life. At this point, it is very important to introduce God to them as a
God of abundance – a God that ended up the curses of the enemies so that we can live
an abundant and full life. The focal point of this lesson is “Curses”, for the humanity
had been cursed because of the mistakes Adam and Eve did, but Jesus came and take
that curse away from us and be the one to suffer that curse into the cross so that we
could live an abundant life. For Paul said in Galatians 3:3, “Christ redeemed us from the
curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: „Cursed is everyone who is
hung on a pole‟”.
As we share the said lesson, we must engrave to their hearts and minds that God wants
to bless us. And for Him to bless us, we have to let go of many things and
wholeheartedly give it for His sake. These “many things” can be money, time, effort,
talents, and other things that we have and that God wants us to have more of. When
we give it to God, it is a way of saying to God that we are surrendering our all to Him
and it also serves as a confirmation that He is truly our Lord because we can let go of it
for Him. And as we give, He will protect all that is left in us. Indeed those things we
give will be used for His church, but more importantly He is looking at our hearts. For
the only way we can be ready to receive His abundance is through letting go of what
little things we have. Malachi said “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there
may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will
not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will
not be room enough to store it” (Malachi 3:10).
Activity
Write 3 stories of on a sheet of paper; it must be your own experiences about your past
curses (low self-esteem, negative mindset, incompetence, diseases, etc.) that you‟ve
now overcome in your mind and heart because of the blood of Christ and the power of
the cross. Give them time to think and do the activities.
Core Lesson
JESUS – PROTECTION
Objective
The objective of this lesson is:
1. To Encourage the New Believer to Trust God regarding their needs – We
must let them understand that God is the God of abundance and that He
wants to bless us. That is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross for
us to free us from the curses and to protect us as we trust and follow Him.
We, as His children, are to live an extraordinary life because we represent
Him – a great and wonderful God. As they understand it, they would be able
to trust God regarding their needs – trust that they can ask Him whatever
they need and He will give it to them and protect them against the curses of
our adversary.

Elements
1. Focal Point
Appreciate: Appreciate them coming, their efforts and their time. Talk a little
about what happened to them this week.
Acknowledge: Ask them about the things they have learned from the last
Consolidation lesson, “Overcoming Temptations”. Remind them that they are like
a child who is not yet strong, and so in able to grow and be strong enough to
overcome temptations, they must get to know the Lord and His promises
through reading His Words. Our goal is to remind them of the previous three
lessons that we‟ve shared to them.
Validate: Remind them that they are soon to participate in an Encounter. Excite
them as you share; have a financial plan with them on how they can shoulder
the payments and a plan for them to be allowed by their parents to participate in
the Encounter. Tell them that it is possible to do because our God is a God of
abundance and He will give us what we need if we ask Him.
You can start without mentioning the focal point, or you can introduce your focal
point after you appreciate and acknowledge them. In some instances, you can
also introduce it after you tell your stories.
2. Story 1
This is the moment to tell them your story of the past about the curses you‟ve
experienced (low self-esteem, negative mindset, incompetence, diseases, etc.)
that you‟ve now overcome in your mind and heart because of the blood of Christ
and the power of the cross. You may choose one from the stories we did in the
above activity. Upon choosing, be sensitive to what story they really need
according to their earlier responses and ask the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You
can share two or even three stories according to what the Holy Spirit is saying
and if time permits. Remember that it is not what we share, but it is how we
share it.
You can also use illustrations to convey the message about this lesson. The
following two illustrations can greatly help you in your consolidation:
The first illustration is called “Representation”. In the Bible, the main sources of
income of the people are vegetation and shepherding. And in able to protect it,
they offer its first fruit to God. The first fruit offering is the 10 percent of the
harvest which represent the whole harvest itself. As a result, the Lord will protect
the 90 percent left for those people who offered the First Fruit Offering. You
must get a sheet of paper and a pen and draw the following illustration:
10% 90%
Same as with us, our tithe (10 percent of our raw income) is the representation
of our whole possession which we believe the Lord has given us. Now, about
those who are not yet earning money, especially the students; they can give
what they have like time and effort in doing the work of the Lord.
Afterwards, you can now share Galatians 3:13 which says “Christ redeemed us
from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: „Cursed is
everyone who is hung on a pole‟”. You can explain why curses enter the
humanity through the disobedience of Adam and Eve and how the humanity had
been set free from these curses through the death of Jesus Christ at the cross of
Calvary. You can also share that God is a God of abundance by quoting what He
promised to Abraham in the book of Genesis, “I will surely bless you and make
your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the
seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies”.
(Genesis 22:17). You may also remind them again that in able to protect what
we have and to receive more, we must give to His storehouse as our sign of
obedience to Him. You can also share other related verses according to the
guidance of the Holy Spirit.
6. Challenge
This part is the time to encourage them to do what you two have been talking
about. Challenge them to give the 10 percent of what they are earning so that
their 90 percent will be protected and God will bless them even more. If they
aren‟t earning money yet, challenge them to give their time and effort for:
Devotion (quote Consolidation Lesson 2)
Life Group, PEPSOL and Sunday Service as well as other Church events
An hour of cleaning their house
Also, ask permission for them to check their devotion and their giving. This will
encourage them to be faithful in doing it and also when they are struggling in
doing it, we can immediately encourage and help them accordingly.
7. Prayer
Before praying, ask them about their needs so that you can pray for it, relate to
them the best you can. And as you pray, stick to your focal point. Also, don‟t
forget to bless them in every aspect of their life especially the areas in which
they are struggling. Quote the key verse and other supporting verses.
Sample Consolidation Dialogue (Courtesy of Coach Joshua Buenaventura):
Good day, I appreciate you came. I know you have things to do but you
chose to come here. So how was your week? (Let them answer and talk
about it a little. Do your best to have a fluid conversation). Do you still
remember what we‟ve talked about last week? … Yes, it is about
“Overcoming Temptation”; what have you learned from it? (Pause and let
them answer the question). Indeed you are like a child who is not yet
strong, and so in able to grow and be strong enough to overcome
temptations, you must get to know the Lord and His promises through
reading His Words.
By the way, you are soon to participate in an Encounter with God. I‟m so
excited for you, this will really help you to become stronger in your faith
and be rooted in the Word of God as you get to know Him more and
more. On this Encounter, you will learn a lot of things about God and
experience Him on a personal manner. I still remember the day I
encountered God, I was so happy and empowered – that was the
greatest time of my life! And I‟m so happy that you‟ll soon experience it
too. The payment is 500php at La Corbel Resort on March 23-25, 2018.
And since you are a student, you cannot immediately produce 500php.
That is the reason why I am telling you this ahead of time so that we can
plan on how you can produce a 500-peso payment. Since it‟s still two
weeks before the Encounter, let us save 20php a day and combine it the
day before Encounter. One other thing, you must please your parents in
everything you do starting today and find a perfect timing to ask their
permission to allow you to participate in the Encounter.
Do you think you can do it? … I think you can because our God is not
just only a God who is also a loving Father to us, a God who fulfills what
He said in His Words and a God who gives us strength to overcome
temptations. Now we must teach them that as we follow Him (e.g.
deepen our relationship with Him, talking to Him through our daily
devotion, overcoming temptations, etc.), it doesn‟t mean that we are to
live a poor and lacking life. God is also a God of abundance – a God that
ended up the curses of the enemies for us to live an abundant and full
life. And so, 500php and a favor from your parents are very easy for Him.
And if we ask Him and trust His promises, He will give us what we need.
Whatever it is, it‟s not impossible for Him.
Speaking of curses, I once experienced a curse during my childhood in
first grade. I was once told by my teacher that I‟m dumb and that words
were engraved into my mind. I come to believe it with all my heart and it
really affected me. I‟ve got mild dyslexia in which I often switch the
letters b and d as well the letters as p and q in my vision. Because of it, I
feel so ashamed and lose confidence in facing people especially in talking
in front of the class. I then get so afraid in life to the point that I didn‟t
take the course I wanted to take in college which is Bachelor of Science
in Architecture and Interior Design because it has too many Math
subjects and I think lowly of myself when it comes to academics,
especially Mathematics. That curses make its way into my life, take hold
and remain there for a very long time, and then it affected my life
negatively. It means death of my dream – to be an Interior Design
Architect.
The curses I mentioned are my dyslexia and the word that my teacher
said to me in my first grade, which I believed. If those curses stayed in
me for the rest of my life, it will destroy everything that I have and
hinder the blessings that God wants to give to me – which I am
experiencing now. These curses are a complete opposite of God‟s
blessings. However, there is a way to protect what we have from those
curses and open the floodgates of heaven so that the blessings of the
Lord will overflow in our lives.
Same as with us, our tithe (10 percent of our raw income) is the
representation of our whole possession which we believe the Lord has
given us. Now, there are many kinds of giving, if you don‟t earn money
yet, you can give what you have – like time and effort – in doing the
work for the Lord.
Let me share you a verse about this matter, it can be found in Galatians
3:13 which says, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by
becoming a curse for us, for it is written: „Cursed is everyone who is
hung on a pole‟”. For the humanity had been cursed because of the
mistakes Adam and Eve did, but Jesus came and take that curse away
from us and be the one to suffer that curse into the cross so that we
could live an abundant life.
Are you ready to apply what you have learned? Do you want to have
protection in every aspects of your life and be blessed grandiosely by
God? Then I want to challenge you to give the 10 percent of what you
are earning so that your 90 percent will be protected and God will bless
you even more. If you aren‟t earning money yet, I challenge you to give
your time and effort for: Devotion (quote Consolidation Lesson 2), Life
Group, PEPSOL and Sunday Service as well as other Church events or an
hour of cleaning your house. I am also asking you permission to allow me
to check your devotion and your giving every week so that when you are
struggling in doing it, I can immediately help you.
“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common
good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to
another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another
faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to
another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another
distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of
tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are
the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one,
just as he determines.”
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
This lesson is different compared to others – it is the longest and one of the most
important lesson. In fact, when we are out of time and the soul we are winning will
soon have their Encounter; we can share only two consolidation lessons: Lesson 3
(Overcoming Temptations) and Lesson 5 (Supernatural). In sharing this lesson, we
must make them realize that we are sharing this lesson to prepare them as they will
soon participate in an Encounter with God. The focal point of this lesson is
“Supernatural,” it pertains to the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit which will help us to do the
work as a part of the body of Christ. These gifts also serve as superpowers to do
greater things for His greater glory.
There were 9 important points in this lesson – one per every gift of the Holy Spirit. The
9 gifts are: Message of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Special Faith, Healing, Miracles,
Prophecy, Discernment, Speaking in Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues. These
points are the highlights of the lesson. We must highlight each and every point and use
our own stories and some illustrations to make it more relatable and understandable for
them. To do this, we must first do the activity below.
Activity
Write a story of you related to each of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit on a sheet of paper.
The focus of these stories must be supernatural (e.g. superpowers, superheroes, etc.)
or how these gifts can serve as superpowers. If you can‟t write a story (your own,
others‟ or other stories) for each of the gifts, you can substitute it to illustrations or
elaborated explanations. Give them time to think and do the activities.
Core Lesson
JESUS – GIFTS
Objective
The objective of this lesson is:
3. To Encourage the New Believer of Their Gifts – Make your sharing more exciting.
Make them realize how good it is to have superpowers. Then relate the 9 gifts of
the Holy Spirit to those superpowers in which those gifts will help us do
supernatural things (things we can‟t do in a natural realm), overcome the
spiritual battle, help others, do the works for His greater glory and other
extraordinary things. Make them envision, realize and perceive how great it is to
live a life with these superpowers – the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Elements
6. Focal Point
We must start the lesson by talking about superpowers. Ask them if they want to
have a superpower and what superpower it would be. Also share what
superpower you want to have. Relate to them personally. Then tell them that we
all want to have it, and God also wanted to give it to them. Point out that these
superpowers are through the gifts of the Holy Spirit which can help us minister
to God and minister to others. Sustain the atmosphere of excitement while
sharing this lesson.
9. Challenge
Afterwards, share to them that they can have some of these 9 gifts of the Holy
Spirit in the upcoming Encounter. Say that you want them to ask God to give
them those gifts in the baptism of the Holy Spirit during the Encounter; let them
request the gifts they want to have for His greater glory and He will give it to
them. Also, tell them that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not just for us to use for
our own gain, it‟s actually for us to minister to God and to minister to others.
10. Prayer
Before praying, remind them that their Encounter is just days ahead and ask
them if they have money for registration fee. As you pray, stick to your focal
point. Don‟t forget to ask for God‟s provision so that they may be able to pay for
their Encounter. Also, ask God to prepare and condition their hearts for the
upcoming Encounter.
Good Day, I want to congratulate you because you are soon to have an
Encounter with God. I am so excited for you, are you excited too?
(Pause). Since your Encounter with God is nearly approaching, we‟re
going to talk about Superpowers. And because this lesson is very
important, is it okay with you if we talk longer than the usual, around 25
to 30 minutes? (Pause and let them answer). Okay, so let‟s proceed.
I have a question for you, „Would you like to have a Superpower?‟ (Pause
and let them answer). What is it? (Let them answer then share what
powers you want to have). Indeed, we all want to have superpowers;
even God wants us to have it. These superpowers can help us do
supernatural things - things we can‟t do in the natural realm, overcome
the spiritual battle, help others, do the works and ministries for God‟s
greater glory and other extraordinary things. Do you want to know what
those superpowers are? Those are the gifts of the Holy Spirit!
Let me start on the gift of the Message of Wisdom. When I was a kid, I
always dream of flying. And so, many times I prayed to God to make me
fly, I even tried to jump from high places. But sadly, I always ended up
failing. It‟s because I don‟t know the right application of the Word. Every
time I prayed to God, I always said to Him “Lord, please give me a chance
to fly because you said in John 15:7 „If you remain in me and my words
remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.‟” A few
years ago, I was able to understand it because the Holy Spirit gave me
the right application along with the verses I‟ve learned; one of which is
Isaiah 55:11 which says “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It
will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve
the purpose for which I sent it”. So I combined Isaiah 55:11 to John 15:7,
then I get it and said, “I know it now! I must not pray using my own
words; I must pray using the Word of God because „His Words will not
come back to Him void‟.” It is the reason why my prayers were not being
fulfilled because the way I pray is wrong.
Actually, I even tried it one time when Jake, one of the primary leader
from this church, invites me and my father to pray for his sick
grandmother. And so we came. But as for me, I don‟t want to pray for
sick people, because every time I witnessed my father praying for the
sick, there were only two results – either they were healed or, most likely,
they died. And then I remembered Isaiah 55:11 and apply it to Matthew
18:19 in which I said to God before I enter the room, “Lord, when I go
inside that room I will agree to my father‟s prayer because you said in
Your Words in Matthew 18:19 that „…if two of you on earth agree about
anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.‟”
And so I entered the room and agreed to my father‟s prayer. After a few
days Jake texted me, “Coach, my grandmother just woke up from her
comatose!”
The next gift is the gift of the Word of Knowledge. How many promises
are there in the Bible again? (Answer: around 8,000 promises). Imagine
that you are Darna or Captain Barbell… you‟ll have 8,000 stones or 8,000
barbells. How powerful is that? Actually, superheroes are not „all
powerful‟; in fact they cannot defeat their enemies without the help of
each other, like the Marvel Heroes and the Justice League. But the God
we serve is all powerful and He has given us everything we need. So
imagine you have a heavy burden, the gift of the Word of Knowledge is
like this – the Holy Spirit will remind you the right Words that you should
use in times you needed it. For example, when you encountered sickness,
the Holy Spirit will remind you of James 5:13-14, James 4:7 when you are
battling with temptation, remember the stories I have shared to you
weeks ago when I was sleeping and the Holy Spirit remind me about
James 4:7? It‟s like the Holy Spirit will say to you “get the 1,536 th stone
and combined it with 6,233rd barbell and shout Darna!” It is impossible to
memorize the whole Bible; but when you need it the most, the Holy Spirit
may quicken your mind to remind you the verses you need.
Now the third gift is a gift of Special Faith. Our faith in believing that when
we die, we‟ll go to heaven is a normal faith; but the special faith is the
breeding ground for miracles and healing. This is having an assurance
that what you pray for will actually happen, because the Holy Spirit is in
the past, in the present and in the future. What we only see are the
happenings from the past and the events in the present, we cannot look
beyond it – the future; but the Holy Spirit can see it. Thus, the gift of
special faith is like this – the Holy Spirit will tell you to pray, because when
you pray, God will give it to you. You‟ll have courage and assurance that
those in danger will not perish and that great big problems will be solved
because the Holy Spirit says so.
This kind of faith brings forth the next two gifts – the gift of Healing and
the gift of Miracles. On that note, the fourth gift is the gift of Healing.
When some people pray, the ones they pray for are being healed. They
feel that when they pray for a specific person, that person will be healed.
And that only happens when you have the gift of Special Faith. As Paul
said in his letters to the Romans, “Faith comes from hearing and hearing
the Word of God…” (Romans 10:17). Thus, you also need the gift of the
Word of Knowledge and the gift of the Message of Wisdom. It‟s like
climbing a ladder; the more you go up – the more gifts you have, the
more effective you become in everything you do.
Do you want the sick people to be healed when you pray? However, the
problems of the people are not just sicknesses; there are also bigger
problems such as heavy burdens. And that is where the fifth gift comes –
the gift of Miracles. It is a gift in which when you pray, it will really
happen. Do you remember Matthew 18:19? That‟s why it is very
important that we go to our prayer gatherings, because there are other
people that will be with you in prayer and cry with you as you go through
those burdens. So desire the first five gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Did you notice that all these gifts need the Word of God? To be founded
in His Words is what we need to have these gifts. That‟s why I am
encouraging you to read the Bible starting with the Book of John. Actually
in our Church we have a Reading Plan, I want you to read the New
Believers‟ Reading Plan – it‟s only one chapter per day. It‟s like being a
piggy bank; we save His Words and plant it into our hearts so that when
we need it, we can use it. Are these five gifts enough for today? Do you
want more or we‟ll talk about the next four gifts next time after your
Encounter? (Let them answer. They must desire to talk about the next
four gifts. If they tell you to proceed, proceed to the next four gifts. If
they just agree to talk about it next time, you must make them
understand that if you talk about it next time, they will lose the chance to
understand the next four gifts and thus lose the possibility of receiving it
in the Encounter. The purpose of this question is only to create an
atmosphere of excitement).
Well then, the sixth gift is the gift of Prophecy. This Prophecy is different
from the office of the prophet from the five-fold ministries (Ephesians
4:11). These prophets are different because God speaks through them.
However, this gift of Prophecy was described in Romans 4:17 which says,
“Our God is the God who brings life to the dead and caused things that
are not as though they were.” It has the same analogy with the gift of
Faith because the Holy Spirit which is in the past, in the present and in
the future can make you feel (or reveal to you) what will happen and
reveal to you the things in the past that you‟ve already forgotten.
Can I tell another story? A few years ago, our church had a conference
called “LifeLifters” in which one of the speakers talked about her life. She
was an alcoholic and a gambler because she was raped when she was a
child; and she deal with it for a long time, asking God why He allowed it
to happen to her. One time she finally said to herself, “I must not remain
like this anymore” and then said to God, “Lord, You have to heal me from
the inside. Lord, I prophesy healing upon my life. I need to be healed.”
And do you know what the Holy Spirit did? The Holy Spirit revealed to her
what has happened in the past – where God was and how broken He was
while she‟s being raped. And because of that she acquired freedom and
healing from how she feels.
And so the gift of Prophecy is speaking into your life and into the life of
others what the Holy Spirit is telling: speaking healing, speaking miracles,
speaking into existence things that haven‟t happen yet. Again, it needs
the Word of God, there‟s no power in Prophecy if it does not come from
the Word of God because His Words will not come back to Him void. So
far, did you notice that the six gifts I already shared to you need the
Bible? We cannot live without the Bible and we cannot live without Jesus
Christ for only Jesus Christ can allow us to take hold of the truth – the
Word of God.
Now, the seventh gift is the gift of Discernment. It is a gift that will enable
us “to distinguish between spirits”. Women naturally have a strong sense
of this; we call it the mother‟s instinct or “kutob” in Tagalog. The
discerning of spirits operates in the same way, spiritually – supernaturally;
it will give you peace in your heart and you will know what the truth is
because there are various spirits in this world that will lie to deceive us.
Did I mentioned last time that Lucifer was thrown from heaven like
lightning (Luke 10:18)? Yes, but he‟s not alone, he‟s with the one-third of
the angelic host. That‟s why there are negative forces in this world and
we need to know how to discern the good and the bad spirit. Because
someone might say to you, “you know, I discern that there will be
something good that will happen to your love life”, and so you might
believe it. But what if it comes from a bad spirit, one of which that does
not come from God? However, if you have the gift of Discernment, you‟ll
know if it comes from God or not. And usually this gift is proven by a
Word of God.
That‟s why in our church, when we are asking for a word from the Lord,
there were three steps: (1) in your devotion, (2) your leader (network
leader, cell leader or ministry leader) will say it to you and (3) a random
person from the church will say a word to you which will serve as a
confirmation. This is to eradicate the spirits which are saying random
things like „it‟s him, your future husband‟, „go leave that church‟, „switch
cell group‟, etc. Discernment is from the Holy Spirit, and it also needs the
previous gifts –wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles and prophecy.
The eighth gift which a lot of people receive is the gift of Speaking in
Tongues. It doesn‟t need other gifts unlike the previous gifts. Many
Theologians quote that the gift of Speaking in Tongues is a language from
heaven, an angelic language. It‟s a spiritual language; it is your spirit
communicating with God. Have you ever witnessed some people who lose
someone? How‟s their cry during the burial ceremony when their dead
loved ones were being brought down under the ground? It‟s like you can‟t
make any sense from their cry – a lot of grief and pain words cannot
describe.
I remember the time when me and my father have a big fight, he was
countering me. My cry was like that, Blghtshshaaahhsblgdhghtuughsh
aaahhhgghtshshshhblshaaahhhsbllghtdhdhghtuughhsh… It‟s because
there are something that words cannot express and that is your spirit
trying to say something. There are wounds that are deeper than physical
wounds and that is in the heart, in your spirit. The Speaking of Tongues
scratches way for us to release all our feelings, all the pain that we have.
For as we speak, cry or pray in Tongues about our pain, the enemy
cannot understand it. That is between you and God. And so if you feel
bad, you must speak and pray in Tongues to God so that the enemy can‟t
know it and pollute it.
That‟s why it is important for you to ask for the gift of Speaking in
Tongues in the Encounter. Ask God “Lord give me this, give me this”,
because if you don‟t ask, it will not be given to you. There were people
who undergo Encounter with God but after the Encounter, nothing
happened. It is because they didn‟t asked God. That is why I want to
share these to you before you have your Encounter because it is very
important. So that when you do your devotion, you‟ll be able to
understand and have a revelation from God. Have you ever had a hard
time doing the devotion, when nothing is happening? Maybe it‟s because
the Holy Spirit hasn‟t revealed it to you yet or you don‟t ask God for a
revelation.
Lastly, if you want to communicate with God, having the gift of Speaking
in Tongues is sometimes not enough. Sometimes you have to ask for the
last gift, the gift of Interpretation of Tongues. For we use our gift of
Speaking in Tongues not just for us to pour out our spirit and talk to God,
it‟s also a way in which the Holy Spirit can talk back to us. For example,
Bernie is in deep sorrow but he cannot express it because he does not
undergo Encounter yet or he already undergone Encounter but he‟s shy.
During the Soaking time, Chievanny who is so broken and surrendered to
God, suddenly speak in Tongues. She had no gift of Interpretation of
Tongues, she just speak and speak and speak in Tongues as the Holy
Spirit filled her. Coincidentally, Jenn who has a gift of Interpretation of
Tongues is nearby and realized that this is not Chievanny praying but the
Holy Spirit answering back. And then she relayed it to the whole
congregation, “Somebody in this place, God is saying that He loves you.
That in your brokenness He is there with you, He accepts you and His
word for you is „you are my son in whom I am well pleased.‟” And that
was the answer of God to Bernie‟s prayer. Bernie just broke down in tears,
amazed of how awesome God is.
In the same manner, all the gifts are actually helping each other. That‟s
why as you study the Bible you‟ll know that the gifts we have is not just
for our own selves, it‟s actually to minister to God and minister to others.
Is the gift of Healing for you or for you to use to others? Is the gift of
Miracle for you or for you to use to others? The reason why we‟ve been
given gifts is not for ourselves. When I was a child, I wanted to fly to help
people in need. I wanted to fly so that I can come to them, so that I can
help them. Same thing with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, God wants you to
have these gifts to help others.
Now I am sharing it to you because I want you to ask for these gifts
during the Holy Spirit Baptism in the Encounter. And as I‟ve said, the
upcoming Encounter is very near; do you have money for your
registration fee, because the fee is 500php? Let‟s pray for that (and then
pray for them – especially for their payment and the condition of their
heart for the upcoming Encounter).
