Does robot’s purposes is for progress or end of humanity? This is an issue that is
debatable and discussed especially on this modern era where robots really exist and it
continue to evolve because of the innovation of technology. Everyone has his or her
supposition on this issue which influences society and economy. Robot, any consequently
operated machine that replaces human exertion, in spite of the fact that it may not
resemble human beings in appearance or perform capacities in a humanlike way. By
expansion, robotics is the building teach managing with the design, development, and
operation of robots. However, humans are the brain of any machines that was invented
on this world thus, the ability and skills of a human is more important than robots and it
will continue to have a progress on our economy. In my opinion, robots are for the end of
humanity since they lead humans to lose their jobs, robots are dangerous and cause
harm to a person and lastly it makes people lazy.
At the beginning, robots can cause the end of humanity because it leads a human
lose their jobs. As development continues to progress, robots are getting to be cleverer
than individuals and computers learn to perform tasks with more prominent viability than
us, it is worrying to think that one day robots will be in each workplace and there will be
less and less jobs available for people. In the research conducted by John Maynard
Keynes (1929), it was discovered a large and vigorous negative impact of robots on
employment and wages. They estimate that one more robot per thousand laborers
reduces the employment-to-population proportion by between 0.18 and 0.34 rate points,
and is related with a wage decrease of between 0.25 and 0.5 percent. The impacts are
most articulated on industries most exposed to robots, on workers with less than a college
degree, and on routine manual, blue-collar, assembly, and other related occupations.
Robots show up to have a more negative impact on the employment of men than of
women. Acemoglu and Restrepo (2017) examined the affiliation between the change
within the rate of industrial robots and overall employment between 1990 and 2007 in 722
commuting zones within the contiguous United States. A commuting zone speaks to a
nearby labor market, which is comparative conceptually to a metropolitan region, but
commuting zones cover the whole United States, including rural zones. Comes about
from their analysis demonstrate that each additional robot per thousand workers is related
with a decrease of 5.6 paid workers. Moreover, in the moment decade of the 21st century,
a number of studies have been discharged suggesting that technological unemployment
may be expanding around the world. Oxford Teachers Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael
Osborne, for illustration, have assessed that 47 percent of U.S. employments are at
hazard of automation. In any case, their findings have habitually been confused, and on
the PBS News Hours they once more made clear that their discoveries don't necessarily
suggest future innovative unemployment. In conclusion, the robots lead humans to lose
their employment because as technology thriving and more robots were developed it gave
a bad impact to the workplace of people. As stated at the researches that I found out, that
it is worrying to think that one day robots will be in each workplace and there will be less
and less jobs available for people. As the inventions of robot increases, then it has a direct
impact that will decrease or lessen the opportunities of workers.
The second reason that robots is for end of humanity is it make people lazy. This
is interrelated on my first reason above. In 2018, AI expert Peer Mohaideen Sait, founder
and CEO of Dark Cube Solutions, believes Artificial Intelligence can make us “lazy”, but
as it were depending upon each person how they are utilizing AI. “Data is Data. How you
select to see that information and how you're utilizing it, it’s still a human choice. It is
approximately how you enhance with it. Human interaction stills remain where AI is
concerned. But what if it gives you interchange choice. AI gives People a chance to
develop other parts of their brain, whereas AI solves problems which we don’t ought to.
At school, we need to memorize a lot of information’s, but presently we have all the
information in one pocket which leads to utilize of our brainless and which will not create
another part of our brain. In the meantime, each Human is imaginative on their own who
will invent thousands of new jobs so, and we won’t get a chance to get lazy. In addition,
on the article written by Madurima Nag entitled “Are Robots making our lives easy or
lazy?” stated that Similar to it took a few a long time for the world to acknowledge
smartphones which are presently owned by truly one in six individuals over the globe,
robots will also be a part of our lives within the coming a long time. Humanoid or not, they
will make your lives lazy but, only in the event that you learn to balance their ease of use
along with your way of living. With Aina (our upcoming artificially cleverly item at
Sluggish), we are attempting to keep up this balance where the client gets to control the
sum of automation they need in their lives. Generally, the advancement of new
technologies really affects the lives of a person. It only depends on a human if those
innovation will let him or her overpower or not. The robots lead to an end of humanity
because it makes the human lazy. As what the researchers stated human just depend
and let the robots to their task. This situation causes a bad impact to a person specifically
of being lazy.
Lastly and the most prominent reason why robots is for end of humanity since it
dangerous and cause harm to a person. Robots were made up of metals, wires, different
machinery materials and the likes that my cause harm to a person if it produced a wire
fire. There are researches that supports this claim, first in line was the human that was
killed in Michigan. According to wired.com, 1979: A 25-year-old Ford Motor assembly line
worker is killed on the job in a Flat Rock, Michigan, casting plant. It is the first recorded
human death by robot. Williams died immediately in 1979 when the robot's arm slammed
him as he was gathering parts in a storage facility, where the robot moreover retrieved
parts. Williams' family was afterward granted $10 million in harms. The jury concurred the
robot struck him in the head since of a lack of security measures, including one that would
sound an alarm in case the robot was close. According to Evan Selinger and Woodrow
Hartzog, in February, a South Korean lady was resting on the floor when her robot
vacuum ate her hair, constraining her to call for emergency offer assistance. It may not
be the dystopian future that Stephen Hawking cautioned us about – where cleverly
devices “spell the end of the human race” – but it does highlight one of the unforeseen
dangers of welcoming robots into our home. In a casualty case from 2015, a warehouse
representative at a bottled water company was killed after being crushed by the forks on
a robotic, driverless forklift known as an LGV (laser-guided vehicle). LGVs are equipped
with security sensors that are outlined to detect objects or workers within their way. When
the sensors distinguish an obstacle, the LGV automatically stops moving and an alarm
sounds until a worker removes the object. The manufacturer’s manual requires workers
to start an “emergency stop” sometime recently removing an obstacle. This prevents the
forklift from promptly continuing its ordinary exercises once the object has been removed.
In this case from 2015, the sensor’s caution was activated by a bit of plastic wrap
underneath the raised forks of the LGV. Unfortunately, the victim did not initiate the
emergency stop, and was smashed by the forklift after it continued its automated
functions (Gould, 2019). In general, the robots are dangerous and can cause harm to
human being just like what happened on the situations on the researches given. Due to
the overused of the machines the parts of it cannot function well and cannot do the task
that was operated on it. For this instance, the robot act incorrectly and suddenly it was
the causes or the source why those machines is harmful and hurt the humans.
In conclusion, robots are for end of humanity since they lead humans to lose their
jobs, robots are dangerous and cause harm to a person and lastly it makes people lazy.
Due to the innovation of the machines like robots there are person that was greatly
affected specifically the workers. For the reason that the company think that the skills and
abilities of a robots were more effective and efficient than a human. Thus, managers
chose to fired the humans and let the machines work for them even though it is 24/7. On
the other side, robots were dangerous and cause harm to a person in a way that the
machines have no emotion nor brain to think by their own and the only way for it to work
or move is through the capacity of a human. When a robot was overused it may explode
or create a wired fire. Also, due to incorrect information that a machine will generate a
person may receive harm just like William the first human that was killed by a robot.
Furthermore, robots make a person lazy since robots can work as a human, people just
let the machines do their task just like making a coffee or guard the house. All in all, the
position of the writer or the researcher is human is better than robots because those
machines is for end of humanity that was supported by my three claims which are; robots
lead humans to lose their jobs, robots are dangerous and cause harm to a person and
lastly it makes people lazy.
