High School program molded us students to be well guarded and equipped from
the continuous evolution of Technology.
LEARNING PROCESS OF ICT HAS CHANGED YOUR WORLDVIEW
As it is known from time immemorial that everything in life is like the two
side of a coin, there is always a positive and negative side of every phenomenon.
Access to information:
Job loss: One of the largest negative impact of ICT can be the loss of the
person’s job.
Reduced personal interaction: Being able to work from home is usually
regarded as being a positive impact of using ICT but, there can be negative
impact as well.
Reduced physical activity: A third negative effect of ICT is that users may
adopt a more sedentary lifestyle.
Probably the largest impact that ICT use has on society is allowing members
of society to have greatly increased access to information. This can have
numerous positive effects, such as:
increasing opportunities for education
improving communication
allowing people to participate in a wider, even worldwide, society.
On the positive side, the use of ICT in education can provide opportunities that
might not otherwise exist, such as:
distance learning, where students can access teaching materials from all
over the world,
the ability to perform ‘impossible’ experiments’ by using simulations,
the possibility for students to have individual learning programs within a
topic, rather than everybody having to do the same thing at the same time
at the same pace. More able students can be given more challenging work,
less able students can access remedial lessons.
What is It
Instruct the students to make a reflection paper using an ICT platform or
application of their choice to explain their journey of the learning process in making
use of ICTs as an empowerment tool.
Guide Questions
1. How did this subject change the way you view ICT?
2. Are they tools to be used to achieve higher goals?
3. After going through the lessons and visiting online sites, reflect on how they are
currently being used. Do you agree or disagree with it?
4. Based on your reflection, do you have recommendations regarding ICT uses in
the country?
Following is an example of a Rubric that may be used for the reflection paper.
Scoring Rubric:
