(I) System Requirements

Minimum system requirement as follows :


➢ PC running Windows XP with Internet Explorer 6

➢ Minimum 128 MB of RAM

➢ Approximately 150MB of hard disk space

(II) Registration

Registration is needed upon first time usage of YORK Product(s) Selection


System for every computer. Please follow the steps below for registration:

➢ Double click on YORK Product(s) Selection System shortcut to start program.

➢ The Security Access interface will pop up.

➢ Type in valid User Name and Password and click Log In/press [Enter] to log in.

➢ For 1st time log in, User Name: admin Password: 1234
➢ Click Get Registration ID on the right hand side of the interface.

➢ The Get Registration ID interface will appear together with the Registration ID.

➢ Use keyboard [Ctrl]+[C] to copy the Registration ID.

➢ The Registration ID is needed to be sent to the system administrator (OYL

Condair Industries Sdn. Bhd.) to generate a patch file.


➢ The patch file (with the extension .ylu) will be provided by system administrator.

Copy and save the file to a valid path/directory.


➢ To complete the registration, click Update menu, and select Patch File Update.

➢ The Open YSS Patch File interface will pop up.

➢ Select the patch file (with the extension .ylu) from the path/directory where the

file was saved and click Open.


➢ A message will pop up to confirm about the updated patch file.

➢ Restart YORK Product(s) Selection System.

➢ The list of sub modules and menus will be activated for further usage of YORK

Product(s) Selection System.

(III) Regional and Language Settings

➢ Click .

➢ Select Settings and click on .

➢ Double click on Regional and Language Options.

➢ The interface as below will be displayed:

➢ The following interface will appear:

Date tab

➢ Click Date tab.

➢ The interface as in Figure (I) will appear.

➢ In the Short Date section, change the date format to 'dd-MM-yyyy'.

➢ In the Long Date section, change the format to 'dddd, dd MMMM, yyyy'.

➢ Users can type in if the format is not in the list.

➢ Click to save the settings.

➢ Click to close and apply the new Regional and Language settings.

(IV) Trouble shooting

➢ For trouble shooting purposes, please copy the yss_log.dat file and send it
to OYLCondair Industries Sdn. Bhd.
➢ The location of the file is the main directory of the installed YSS program,
(usually is : C:\Program Files\OYLC_YSS)

1.0 Starting YORK Product(s) Selection System – YSS

➢ Double click on the YSS shortcut icon to start YSS program

OR

click Start, . Go to YORK Product(s) Selection System.

➢ The Security Access interface will pop up, as follows:

Click here to close this interface

➢ Type in User Name and Password.

➢ Click , or press [Enter] on the keyboard to log in.

➢ Reminder : After logging in for the first time using User Name and Password as

stated in (II) Registration section, users can create new user name and a
password for individual usage. (Refer to 2.1)

1.1 Understanding Program Interface

➢ After logging in with the valid User Name and Password, the interface

appearance is as in Figure 1.0.


➢ Before Registration is done (Please refer to section (II) of this manual),

the menu is not activated for usage.


➢ After Registration is done, the File, Update and Help menu as well as the

sub module list will be available for further usage.


➢ When the mouse is moved to the list of sub modules, the mouse pointer

will appear as , and the will change to .

➢ The File menu contains the list of sub modules:

Short cut keyboard keys


for ev ery sub module.

➢ The Update menu contains the Patch File Update and Live Update (not

available for the moment).


➢ The Help menu contains the Help File/User Manual.

2.0 General Functions

➢ General functions apply to all sub modules in YORK Product(s) Selection

System.

2.1 Print Preview

➢ The Print Preview function enables users to have a quick view of the

generated document as if it is a printed copy.


➢ The printed hard copy will be the same as the print preview copy.

➢ Click .

➢ The Print Preview interface will appear as follows:

➢ Select desired view at Page View list as follows:

➢ If the Page View is Normal, the Zoom percentage list can be selected.

➢ For documents which have multiple sheets, the will in


the format of:
Current sheet/Total sheets;
For example, sheet number 5 of 15 sheets :

➢ If sheet number 5 consists of 2 pages, the Page will be display as

2.2 Page Setup

➢ Click .

➢ The Page Setup interface will be displayed, as in Figure 2.0.

➢ Select appropriate Page Orientation.

➢ Set Left, Right, Top and Bottom margin.

➢ Click .

2.3 Print

➢ Click .

➢ The Print interface will pop up, as in Figure 2.1.

➢ Set required printer details.

➢ Click to go to the default printer's settings.

➢ Click to go to Page Setup as in Page Setup discussed


before this.

➢ After all settings are confirmed, click .

➢ The generated document(s) will be printed out from the related

computer's default printer.

3.0 AHU Selection

➢ Click from the main YSS interface.

➢ The AHU Selection interface will be loaded as follows:

➢ The tool bar icons and the Quick Menu consist of same functions.

➢ Users can select either from tool bar or from Quick Menu.

3.1 Administration

3.1.1 Creating new user administrators

➢ Click or User Administration from Quick Menu.

➢ The User Administrator interface will pop up, as follows:

Existing user name

➢ Type in required User Name and Password.

➢ Re-type in the similar Password for confirmation.

➢ Click .

3.1.2 Changing existing user's password

➢ Click on existing user name on the left hand side of the User

Administrator interface.
➢ The selected user name will appear in the User Name text box.

➢ Type in new desired password and retype in the Re-type Pass.

➢ The Modify User Password message box will appear as below:

3.1.3 Deleting existing user

➢ Click on existing user name on the left hand side of the User

Administrator interface.
➢ The selected user name will appear in the User Name text box.

➢ Click .

➢ The User Deletion Confirmation message will pop up, as below:

➢ Click Yes to confirm deleting, No to cancel.

3.1.4 Creating customer administrators

➢ Click or Customer Management from Quick Menu.

➢ The Customer Administrator interface will pop up as follows:

➢ Type in relevant information in the text boxes fields.

➢ Click .

3.1.5 Editing existing customer administrator profile

➢ Click on existing customer name on the left hand side of the

Customer Administrator interface.


➢ The selected customer's details will appear in the related text

boxes.
➢ Change required fields.

➢ Click .

➢ The Customer Modification Confirmation message will appear,

as follows:

➢ Click Yes to confirm overwriting previous details, No to cancel.

3.1.6 Deleting existing customer details

➢ Click on existing user name on the left hand side of the

Customer Administrator interface.


➢ The selected customer details will appear in the related text

boxes.

➢ Click .

➢ The Customer Deletion Confirmation message will pop up, as

follows:

➢ Click Yes to confirm deleting, No to cancel.

3.2 Create new/open existing project

➢ Click or Create New/Open Existing Project File from Quick Menu.

➢ The above interface will be displayed.

3.2.1 Adding new project

➢ Click in the Project section, as below:

➢ Type in the required Project name and Order name.

➢ Click .

➢ The new project will appear in the list under Project section.

➢ Order name can be defined in the Order section as well.

3.2.2 Adding new order

➢ Click in the Order section, as follows:

➢ Type in related order name.

➢ The new order will appear in the list under Order section.

3.2.3 Viewing order details

➢ Select the required order and click

Double click on the order.
➢ The details of the order will be displayed in the table on the

right.
➢ The items in the list can be edited and new items can be added

in to the same order.

3.2.4 Input Customer Information

➢ Select the required customer from the Customer list.

➢ The related fields will be filled automatically, as below:

➢ Select Wanted Date.

➢ Select Price Factor from Price Factor list.

➢ Click , to save the project.

3.2.5 Adding new items into existing order

➢ Select an existing project in the Project section.

➢ Select an order(by double clicking or clicking View Details) from

the related selected project.

➢ Click (above the order details table).

➢ The AHU Unit properties interface will appear, as in Figure 3.0

(partly shown):
➢ Type in required Unit Name and select Reference from list. The

available reference list is the items in the selected order.


➢ Select Unit Type and type in Air Volume as well as the unit for air

volume.

➢ Click .

➢ Select Skin Thickness and Supply Model from the related list.

➢ The calculation for Unit Width, Unit Height and Coil(Face

Velocity) will be done automatically.


➢ Type in Unit Quantity.

➢ Click .

➢ The Component Selection section will be displayed:

➢ Click on the required component.

➢ The Icon section will display the selected component.

➢ Double click on the required component and the selected

component will be displayed in the below section.


➢ The figure below shows one of the model's selected

components.

➢ To take out the selected components, double click on the

related component.

➢ After selecting the required components, click .

➢ The Mixing Box Data/Empty Section/Mixing Box + Primary Filter

interface will appear, according to the selected component, as


follows:

➢ Different mixing box will have different data required to be filled

in, in this example is the Mixing Box & Primary Filter Data section.

➢ Click .

➢ The Cooling Coil Data section will appear, as follows:

➢ Click , type in/select required parameters.

➢ The Coil Rating interface will be as follows:

➢ Select Coil Information, for DX coil type, click on , for

Chilled Water type, click on .

➢ Click .

➢ The following interface shows the progress of the rating.

➢ Green ticks/checks indicate the procedure is done and so on.

➢ Caution : When calculation is carried out, please DO NOT click

on any of the YSS program interface. This will cause calculation


failure.
➢ The results are being calculated by system automatically, as

below:

➢ Select coil required by double clicking on any cells of the

required row.
➢ The row of selected data will be put in the second row of the

header as selected.

➢ After selecting the required row, will appear
(available only for DX Coil type).

➢ Click .

➢ The interface as below will appear:

➢ Select appropriate information and click .

➢ A message will be displayed when rating is successful:

➢ The Rating results will be displayed in the table as below:

➢ To include Solenoid Valve, click .

➢ Click .

➢ The Blower Data section will be displayed, as in Figure 3.1.

➢ Type in / select required data / input.

➢ Click to obtain results which will be displayed in


the table, as follows:

➢ Select blower required by double clicking on any cells of the

required row.
➢ The row of selected data will be put in the second row of the

header as selected.

➢ To obtain Fan Curve, click .

➢ The Fan Curve graph will appear, as follows (partly shown):

➢ Click , to switch between Bilog and Linear mode for the fan
curve.

➢ Click .

➢ The Sectioning interface will appear as in Figure 3.2

➢ Select the related inputs from the option buttons available.

➢ Click to reset the sections.

➢ To add sectioning, click on the required component/section

and click .

➢ The selected section/component will have a red border around

the section as in Figure 3.3 (a).


➢ Figure 3.3 (b) is the sectioning being done for the selected

section.
➢ Reminder : Sectioning is done from the last section to front

section.

➢ Click Left Right Indicator (the lower right hand of the Sectioning

interface)to view the indicator figure, as follows:

➢ After confirm finishing all sections, click .

➢ The Unit Successfully Saved message will appear as follows:

➢ Click OK.

3.2.6 Editing Unit in Existing Order

➢ Double click on the required Project name in Project section.

➢ The Orders related for the selected project will be displayed in

the Order section.


➢ Double click on the required order and the units in the selected

order will be displayed in the table to the right.

➢ Click on the required unit and click .

➢ The Unit General Information section will appear, with the

selected unit's name.


➢ The Unit Name field is in blue color as it is not editable.

➢ The related sections will appear according to the unit's

components.
➢ Edit/Fill in the necessary changes.

3.2.7 Removing Unit

➢ Click on the required unit to delete.

➢ Click .

➢ A message will pop up as below:

➢ Click Yes to confirm delete, No to cancel.

3.3 Reports

➢ Click or View Reports in Quick Menu.

➢ The Report Preview interface will appear, as below (partly shown):

➢ Click on the Project list to select the required project.

➢ Click on the Order list to select the required order.

➢ Click on the Report list to choose the necessary report.

➢ Available reports are as follows:

• Equipment Order Form


• Technical Report
• Proposal List
• Special Remark
• Coil TXV Report
• Drawing
• Fan Curve Report

➢ Select the mode of the report which will be generated, that is either in

'Select All' mode or the 'Select Unit(s)' mode.


➢ Select Unit(s) mode enable users to select the required units from the

units in the related order.


➢ Reminder : After selecting report type as Drawing, users have to select

unit from list, as follows:

➢ After selecting the required report, the system will generate the

necessary report automatically.


➢ The status bar on the top right hand side of the interface indicates the

process of the report generating.

This is the status of the report being generated

➢ The generated report will be displayed in the space below.

➢ Reports generated can be printed out into hard copies.

3.3.1 Refreshing reports

➢ Click .

➢ Refreshing reports means generating the same report without

selecting the project, order and report type again.

3.4 Back Up and Restore

3.4.1 Back Up

➢ Back up needs to be done as a step to avoid crashed/lost data due to

various reasons.
➢ System can back up all projects into one file.

➢ Click .

➢ AHU Project(s) Back Up File Location interface will pop up.

➢ Navigate to a valid path/location and click .

3.4.2 Restore

➢ Restore is used to recover back the saved back up file.

➢ Click .

➢ AHU Project(s) Restore File Location interface will pop up.

➢ Locate the back up file and click on it.

➢ Click .

➢ The message box as below will pop up:

➢ Click Yes to confirm overwrite project, No to cancel.

4.0 EWM Selection

➢ Click from the main YSS interface.

➢ The EWM Selection interface will appear as below:

4.1 Unit Conversion

➢ Unit Conversion is available between Imperial and Metric.

➢ Click .

➢ The Unit label indicates the unit system is currently using.

4.2 Rating

➢ Select by checking on the required model check box from the list of

models.
➢ Type in related Air Volume and other details in the related text boxes.

➢ Click .

➢ The results will be displayed in the table, as below :

➢ Caution: When Rating is carried out, please DO NOT click on any of the

YSS program interface. This will cause rating to be failed.

4.3 Selecting models and saving

➢ After rating is done for selected models, click on the required model in

the table result.

➢ Click .

➢ The selected model will be inserted into the list on the right, as below :

➢ Click .

➢ When saving to a file, the selected models will be saved.

4.4 Loading saved file

➢ Click .

➢ The Open Saved Selection File will appear.

➢ Locate the saved file and click .

➢ A message as below will be loaded:

➢ Click OK.

➢ To view the related model's results in the table, select the required

model by clicking on the model.

➢ Click or double click on the model.

➢ The related results from the rating will be displayed in the table.

4.5 Report

➢ To view the report of a model, double click on the required model or

click .

➢ The Report Preview will be loaded, as follows:

➢ Reminder: The report preview is based on the selected model.

4.5.1 Saving to Microsoft Excel format

➢ In Report Preview, click .

➢ The Save Report As interface will be displayed.

➢ Type in valid file name and click to save it in a valid


path/location.

5.0 ½ Inch Loose Coil Rating

➢ Click .

➢ The ½ Inch Loose Coil Rating interface will appear as follows:

5.1 Unit Conversion

➢ Unit Conversion is available between Imperial and Metric.

➢ Click .

➢ The Unit label indicates the unit system is currently using.

Indicates what unit is


being used

5.2 Rating

➢ Fill in required fields in Projects section.

➢ For Coil and Conditions sections, select and type in valid data in

related fields.

➢ Click .

➢ The following interface shows the progress of the rating.

➢ Green ticks/checks indicates the procedure is done and so on.

➢ If the rating is successful, the Report Preview will be displayed, as follows:

➢ If the rating failed, the Failed Coil Rating message will appear.

➢ Caution: When Rating is carried out, please DO NOT click on any of the

YSS program interface. This will cause rating failure.

5.3 Saving Record

➢ After Rating is done, click .

➢ Reminder : In order to save a record, rating has to be done successfully.

Failed rating will not be able to save record.

➢ After clicking save, the Save Project interface will appear.

➢ Navigate to a valid path/location and type in file name.

➢ Click .

➢ A message as below will pop up when project is saved:

➢ Click OK.

5.4 Loading saved file

➢ Click .

➢ The Load Project interface will be displayed.

➢ Navigate to the path/location the required being saved.

➢ Click .

➢ A message box will pop up as follows (if project is loaded successfully):

➢ Click OK.

➢ To view the report of a model, click .
