Q1. The side of a square is 2.5 cm. Find its perimeter and area.
Q2. If the perimeter of a square is 24 cm. Find its area.
Q3. If the length and breadth of a rectangle are 36 cm and 24 cm respectively. Find
(i) Perimeter
(ii) Area of the rectangle.
Q4. The perimeter of a rectangular field is 240 m. If its length is 90 m, find:
(i) it’s breadth
(ii) it’s area.
Q5.The circumference of a circle is 176 cm, find its radius and area.
Q6.The radius of a circle is 3.5 cm, find its circumference and area.
Q7. Find the area of the triangle whose base is 14 cm and height is 20 cm?

SOLVE (any 7) (28)

1.The length and breadth of a rectangular field are equal to 600 m and 400 m
respectively. Find the cost of the grass to be planted in it at the rate of ₹ 2.50 per m 2.

2.A wire of length 176 cm is first bent into a square and then into a circle. Which one
will have more area?

3.DL and BM are the heights on sides AB and AD respectively of parallelogram


ABCD (Fig 11.24). If the area of the parallelogram is 1470 cm2, AB = 35 cm and AD
= 49 cm, find the length of BM and DL.

4.From a circular card sheet of radius 14 cm, two circles of radius 3.5 cm and a
rectangle of length 3 cm and breadth 1 cm are removed (as shown in the
adjoining figure). Find the area of the remaining sheet

5. Find the cost of polishing a circular table-top of diameter 1.6 m, if the rate of
polishing is ₹15/m2. Take  = 3.14

6.A rectangle park is 45 m long and 30 m wide. A path 2.5 m wide is constructed
outside the park. Find the area of the path.

7.The area of a square park is the same as of a rectangular park. If the side of the
square park is 60 m and the length of the rectangular park is 90 cm, find the
breadth of the rectangular park.

8.A door of length 2 m and breadth 1 m is fitted in a wall. The length of the wall is
4.5 m and the breadth is 3.6 m. Find the cost of white washing the wall, if the rate
of white washing the wall is ₹ 20 per m2.
