In factual reporting the answers to basic questions, i.e., what, when, where, who, and why, are
found out. Reporter goes to the concerned persons and authorities and interviews them for the
basic facts and figures about the event
Task: Following the factual report writing guidelines, your task is to write factual report of any
crime news for radio.

Factual reporting
The term "factual reporting" refers to the reporting of any incident as soon as it occurs. Its main
purpose is to break news, and it covers the fundamentals of news gathering, such as what, when,
where, and who. For the first time, the news is shown as part of the news bulletin on the channel.
Even though it is not time for the bulletin. The regular broadcast is paused and the breaking news
is broadcasted instead. However, the newsworthiness of the event that has been reported and is to
be broadcasted as breaking news is an important factor.
What is Crime?
A crime is an act that warrants public condemnation and punishment, which is usually in the
form of a fine or jail. This is distinct from a civil wrong (a tort), which an action is brought
against a person that requires restitution or compensation.
