Error Warning Description

E001 U19*: read/write error * RAM memory. U19 on MCP7 and on MCP7S; U36 on MCP8S.

W002 Reset MCP Note: MCP = Main Control Board

History erased
W003
Log for usage of TLS menu option for erasing the Errors/Warnings History.

E005 U37*: read/write error * Battery-powered RAM memory (Timekeeper). This exists only on MCP8S (among MCPs within the scope of this document)

E010
E011 U33*: read/write error * EEPROM memory. U28 on MCP7, U33 on MCP7S; U29 on MCP8S.
E012
Incompatibility between MCP software and hardware
E015
Occurs on MCP7, when installing a software of MCP7 18MHz on an MCP7 29MHz or vice versa.

E016 Incompatibility between MCP software and hardware

Occurs on MCP7S or MCP8S if the software is not compatible with Xilinx on the board.
E017 MCP configured for another elevator
W020 Communication fault on the hoistway bus
W021 Device is not responding
E026 P26=0: safety circuit fault
Door closing fault
W027 After a request for closing the door, if there is no confirmation that the door is closed (P28=1) within 15s, the door opens again and this warning is displayed. After
some seconds, a retrial is made.

Door opening fault

E028 This error occurs if P28 signal level does not fall to 0 within 2s after a command to open the door.
This is a protective feature to prevent the elevator from moving in Automatic mode (i.e., out of Inspection) if there is a “jumper” on the safety signal (P28).

Unintended movement
E029
Indicates that the elevator moved away from the leveling plate while P28=0. To clear this error, put the elevator in Inspection.

E030 MCINV error

Inversion of movement direction
E031
Obsolete error, changed by errors E141 and E143.

Start timeout
E032 MCP placed a start command, but the elevator did not departure (did not move away from the leveling plate). If the elevator does not departure within 7s, MCP
removes the start command and displays E032 during 7s. Then, it clears the error and retries. After 3 unsuccessful retries, MCP gives up and keeps the error. To clear
it, you must turn the elevator OFF and ON again or enter and exit Inspection mode.

Timeout between landings

E033 During elevator travel, if MCP does not detect its movement through a leveling plate within n seconds, it stalls the elevator and displays this error. To clear it, you must
turn the elevator OFF and ON again or enter and exit Inspection mode.

E034 MCP – MCINV: communication fault (Applies to CTs with CAN communication between MCP and MCINV)

S0S=0: stop timeout

W035 During approach movement, at the end of deceleration, within the leveling plate, MCP waits some seconds for S0S rises to 1. If this does not happen, it removes the
movement command (R36 = 0) and displays this warning.

S0S=0: departure fault

E036
At elevator departure, if S0S is 0, indicating elevator moving (should be at 1, indicating elevator stopped), the MCP will halt the departure and display this error.

BKF=0: departure fault

E037
At elevator departure, if BKF is 0, indicating brake released (should be at 1, indicating brake actuated), the MCP will halt the departure and display this error.

Timeout - elevator stopped not leveled

E038 If the elevator stops not leveled and remains in this situation for more than 15s (provided that it has not been put into Inspection), MCP displays this error during some
seconds and then clears it and puts the elevator in Ini.

E039 MCP – MCINV: incompatible software versions (Applies to CTs with CAN communication between MCP and MCINV)

P40 = P42 = 0: limits fault

E040 The 1v upward deceleration limit (P40) and the 1v downward deceleration limit (P42) are both at 0.
The elevator stalls and enters in Err state. Afterwards, when the fault disappears, it enters in Ini.

T2+ = 0: car safety circuit fault (Applies to AC2)

E041
The elevator stalls and enters in Err state. Afterwards, when the fault disappears, it enters in Ini.

P3 = 0: hoistway safety circuit fault (Applies to AC2)

E042
The elevator stalls and enters in Err state. Afterwards, when the fault disappears, it enters in Ini.

P1 = 0: machine room safety circuit fault (Applies to AC2)

E043
The elevator stalls and enters in Err state. Afterwards, when the fault disappears, it enters in Ini.

P1E = 0: controller safety circuit fault (Applies to AC2)
E044
The elevator stalls and enters in Err state. Afterwards, when the fault disappears, it enters in Ini.

DAS=0: earthquake
E045
The elevator reduces at the next possible landing and remains (in Err) stopped with open doors.

P28=0: safety circuit fault

E046
The elevator stalls and enters in Err state. Afterwards, when the fault disappears, it enters in Ini.

BSTP=0: RUN-STOP switch

E047 When RUN-STOP switch is put on STOP, MCP displays this error. If the elevator was stopped, it will continue stopped. If it was moving, MCP will allow the conclusion
of the travel and, as soon as the elevator stops, MCP will keep it stopped. Unless the elevator is Fire Service Phase 1 or Phase 2: in this case, MCP will halt the travel
immediately, stalling the elevator. When the switch is put on RUN again, MCP clears this error and releases the elevator.

P39 = P41 = 0: limits fault

The physical 2v upward deceleration limit (P39 signal - terminal B061) and the physical 2v downward deceleration limit (P41 signal - terminal B062) are both at 0.
E048
When this error occurs, the elevator stalls, waits 9s and then enters in Ini state.
Obsolete error on MCP7S since V.2.18.

L3U = L3D = 0: limits fault

The physical 3v upward deceleration limit (L3U signal - terminal B063) and the physical 3v downward deceleration limit (L3D signal - terminal B064) are both at 0.

Obsolete warning since MCP7S V.2.16 / MCP7 V.1.51.

Limits fault
E060 The device which reads the upper linear limit ruler generates signals P40, PUA and PUB. The device which reads the lower linear limit ruler generates signals P42,
PDA and PDB. If the MCP detects any inconsistency while reading this set of signals which puts the deceleration limits generation in risk, it will display this error.
When this error occurs, the elevator stalls, waits 9s and then enters in Ini state.

The reader device of the upper ruler of the linear limits is inverted
There is an inversion between PUA and PUB.
W061 The device has two sensors and is installed so that they are vertically aligned, with sensor A (for PUA/PDA signal) on the top and sensor B (for PUB/PDB signal)
below. If the device is installed inverted or if the respective wires are inverted, MCP may display this warning.
Obsolete warning (removed from the software for being irrelevant) since MCP7S V.2.16 / MCP7 V.1.51.

The reader device of the lower ruler of the linear limits is inverted
W062 There is an inversion between PDA and PDB.
The same comments made for W061 apply.

Upper ruler counter fault

E063 W063 Failed to count the holes of the upper ruler of the linear limits.
This fault may be displayed as an Error or a Warning. If the count difference detected is small, it will be displayed as a Warning. If it is large, it will be displayed as an
Error. In this case, the elevator stalls, waits 9s, and then enters in Ini state.

centimeters longer than the measurements of the corresponding limits.
But the decelerations measurements must be shorter than the shortest landing. If not, this error will occur (that’s for FDN (speed up to 105 m/min); in FDG (speed
equal or higher than 120 m/min) there is no such limitation).

Car fan overheating

W160
Obsolete warning; it may be displayed for earlier elevators.

Unmooring fault Note: for more information about the hydraulic mooring, see document CETEC 931.
E161 W161 • E161: unmooring fault while elevator is moving: the hydraulic mooring started to moore (left the “unmoored” condition) during elevator movement.
• W161: unmooring fault with the elevator stopped: MCP sent a command to unmoore, but it has not received the confirmation of unmooring conclusion.

Mooring fault Note: for more information about the hydraulic mooring, see document CETEC 931.

E162 W162 MCP sent a command to moore, but the hydraulic mooring did not start it (did not leave the "unmoored" condition).
Until MCP7S V.2.23 / MCP8S V.3.06, this fault was displayed as a warning. From MCP7S V.2.24 / MCP8S V.3.07, it is displayed as an error. This error is a protective
feature to prevent the elevator from moving in Automatic mode (i.e., out of Inspection) if the hydraulic mooring is bypassed (SA2 in 1).

P23F=0 while the car is in a valid landing

E165
See comments for E166.

P23F=1 while the car is in a false landing

The leveling zones (door opening zones) of the elevator are signalized by “leveling plates”, which, depending on the elevator, sometimes are metal plates, sometimes
are magnets. They are installed in the hoistway and are read by a sensor installed in the car.
In order to segment long landings (long distances between leveling plates) or to equalize the number of landings when grouping elevators with different numbers of
landings, extra leveling plates are used in the hoistway, in positions where there are no landing doors. These are called “false” leveling plates, and their respective
landings, which in fact do not exist, are therefore called “false” landings.
To ensure that the elevator will not open the door if it stops in a false landing (in normal situations, the elevator does not stop in false landings, but this might happen,
for instance, when the elevator stalls and slips due to some error), an aditional sensor and additional leveling plates are used, independent from the normal sensor and
the normal leveling plates.
E166 Thus, in “false” landings, besides the "normal" false leveling plate, an “independent” false leveling plate is also installed. This "independent" false leveling plate
consists of two magnets fastened together, so that they are equivalent to a 60 cm magnet (each magnet is 30 cm long). On the top of the car, besides the sensor for
reading the normal leveling plates (corresponding to P23 signal), another sensor is installed to read the magnets corresponding to the “independent” false leveling
plates (corresponding to P23F signal).
Note: The parameter corresponding to P23F must be enabled in the configuration of the MCP software. This is a fixed factory configuration.
The “independent” false leveling plate must be installed in line with the “normal” false leveling plate, so that when the sensor of the P23 signal is pointing to the center
of the “normal” false leveling plate, the sensor of the P23F signal must be pointing to the center of the “independent” false leveling plate. Thus, since this one is larger
than the other, the elevator will always detect the “independent” false leveling plate first, while moving upwards or downwards, and only later it will detect the “normal”
false leveling plate.
P23F signal is 0 when the sensor is on the magnet and 1 when the sensor is outside the magnet. Sensor X08.075.010 is used.

MCP – PSC: communication fault

The PSC is the Parallel-to-Serial Converter, it serializes the car signals, sends it to MCP through the car serial bus. The PSC has been replacing the MCC (Car
Control Board) on new projects of car panels.
For analysis purposes, PSCs can be classified into “main” and “secondary”:
• Main PSCs: convey the car’s main signals. The most frequent car’s main signals (for example, Fot, P24, etc) are allocated at PSC R01 (Row #01). Other car signals
also considered main signals but less frequent (for example, opposite door signals, Fire Service Phase 2 signals, etc) are allocated, when it is the case, at PSC R06.
Thus, both PSC R01 and PSC R06 are considered "main" PSCs.
E170 W170 • Secondary PSCs: convey only calls (PSCs R02 to R05) or other signals deemed secondary.
A fault in a main PSC may generate, depending on the case, an Error or a Warning (170 to 173), while a fault in a secondary PSC generates only a Warning (W170 to
W173).
Note: until V.2.14, there were errors E170 to E172 and warnings W175 to W177, respectively with the same meanings. For example, a communication fault between
the MCP and a PSC would generate an E170 or W175, depending if the PSC was main or secondary. In V.2.15, the mentioned warnings and also the W178 were
renumbered to W170 to W173, so that each fault would correspond to a same number, changing only from E to W, according to the related PSC. Since then, for
example, a communication fault between the MCP and a PSC now generates E170 or W170, depending if the PSC is main or secondary. The same applies to the
other Errors/Warnings related to PSCs.

EK3=1: power fault

There has been a power fault on the elevator and the Automatic Rescue went into operation.
E202 The Automatic Rescue system signals its entry into operation for the MCP by raising EK3 signal to 1. Then, MCP displays E202 error and puts the elevator in
Automatic Rescue (AR) state. In this state, the elevator, if not leveled, moves until the next leveling plate and remains stopped with open door. The movement speed
in AR state corresponds to the elevator rated speed divided by 20 (requires MCINV5SL or higher with V.14.0 software or higher). When the energy is restored, EK3
signal will drop to 0 and the elevator will change from AR to Ini state.

E203 Safety contactor fault.

C1Em=1: departure fault
E204 At elevator departure, if C1Em signal is 1, which means 1E contactor OFF (should be at 0, indicating contactor ON), the MCP will halt the departure and display this

E223
PDB signal does not change. When this occurs, the elevator stalls, waits 9s, then enters in Ini state.

P40 (L1U): limit fault

E224 The 1v upward deceleration limit failed, there was an unexpected drop to 0 or raise to 1 at P40 signal.
When this error occurs, the elevator stalls, waits 9s, then enters in Ini state.

P42 (L1D): limit fault

E225 The 1v downward deceleration limit failed, there was an unexpected drop to 0 or raise to 1 at P42 signal.
When this error occurs, the elevator stalls, waits 9s, then enters in Ini state.

Lim v- U = 0: limit fault

E226 The elevator was moving upwards at a certain speed and met an upward deceleration limit of lower speed without having met before the deceleration limit of its own
speed. For example, the elevator was moving upwards at 2v and met the 1v upward deceleration limit without having met before the 2v upward deceleration limit.
When this error occurs, the elevator stalls, waits 9s, then enters in Ini state.

Lim v- D = 0: limit fault

The elevator was moving downwards at a certain speed and met an downward deceleration limit of lower speed without having met before the deceleration limit of its
E227 own speed. For example, the elevator was moving downwards at 2v and met the 1v downward deceleration limit without having met before the 2v downward
deceleration limit.
When this error occurs, the elevator stalls, waits 9s, then enters in Ini state.

Lim U = 0: limit fault

E228 When starting an upwards movement at a certain speed, MCP verified that the upward deceleration limit for this speed was 0. Then, the MCP cancels the departure,
waits 10s and then enters in Ini state.

Lim D = 0: limit fault

E229 When starting a downwards movement at a certain speed, MCP verified that the downward deceleration limit for this speed was 0. Then, the MCP cancels the
departure, waits 10s and then enters in Ini state.

BK2=0: departure fault

E230
At elevator departure, if BK2 signal is 0, indicating brake released (should be at 1, indicating brake actuated), MCP will halt the departure and display this error.

BK3=0: departure fault

E231
At elevator departure, if BK3 signal is 0, indicating brake released (should be at 1, indicating brake actuated), MCP will halt the departure and display this error.

BK2=1: movement fault

E232
There is a movement command (R36=1), but BK2=1 informs that the brake is actuated.

BK3=1: movement fault

E233
There is a movement command (R36=1), but BK3=1 informs that the brake is actuated.

B4m=0: departure fault

E234
At elevator departure, if B4m signal is 0, indicating brake released (should be at 1, indicating brake actuated), MCP will halt the departure and display this error.

B5m=0: departure fault

E235
At elevator departure, if B5m signal is 0, indicating brake released (should be at 1, indicating brake actuated), MCP will halt the departure and display this error.

B4m=1: movement fault

E236
There is a movement command (R36=1), but B4m=1 informs that the brake is actuated.

B5m=1: movement fault

E237
There is a movement command (R36=1), but B5m=1 informs that the brake is actuated.

REGEN error
This is related to Regen 2Q Step communicating with the MCP via CAN bus.
E238 If Regen informs an error via CAN, MCP displays a generic error related to Regen on the main screen, the E238 ("REGEN error”), and, on menu "serial - regen",
displays the specific error informed by Regen, for example “Regen error 1 – IGBTs fault”, etc (see the Regen errors list on the Regen 2Q Step Manual). The error
informed by Regen is also displayed: (1) on the 2nd screen of the menu “errors/warnings - current"; (2) on the menu “errors/warnings - history", on the screen next to
the general error description screen.

SGRE=1: GRE switch ON (Applies to elevators with the Integrated Rescue system (movement based in load unbalance), first used in the CT M29)
E239 To perform the Manual Rescue, the technician turns GRE switch ON and pushes BRE button. Thus, the brake is released and the car moves (or not) due to the load
unbalance (weight difference between the car and the counterweight). MCP displays this error because the activation of GRE switch puts the elevator out of service
(turns OFF contactors 1E, INV, etc.).
MRAS = Synergy Automatic Rescue Board.
W240 MCP – MRAS: communication fault Note: do not confuse it with the Integrated Rescue system, that is a different rescue system.

Start Automatic Rescue (Applies to elevators with the Integrated Rescue system (movement based in load unbalance), first used in the CT M29)
Automatic Rescue starts when there is a power supply fault (missing phases) or other faults are detected by MCINV, such as Hall-effect sensor fault, short-circuit on
W250 motor phases, etc. In Automatic Rescue, MCP and MCINV release the brakes and the car moves (or not) due to the load unbalance (weight difference between the
car and the counterweight).
Note: Automatic Rescue will occur only under safe conditions (several signals are monitored).

End Automatic Rescue (Applies to elevators with the Integrated Rescue system (movement based in load unbalance), first used in the CT M29)
W251
Automatic Rescue is completed successfully, i. e., the elevator moved to the center of a leveling plate, stopped and opened the door, releasing the passengers.

Automatic Rescue aborted (Applies to elevators with the Integrated Rescue system (movement based in load unbalance), first used in the CT M29)
W252
Automatic Rescue was interrupted by a fault. The fault can be checked opening the additional screens in the fault history related to this warning.

Start Manual Rescue (Applies to elevators with the Integrated Rescue system (movement based in load unbalance), first used in the CT M29)
Manual Rescue starts when the technician pushes BRE button, after turning GRE switch. Thus, brakes are released and the car moves (or not) due to the load
W253 unbalance (weight difference between the car and the counterweight).
Note: in Manual Rescue, in contrast with Automatic Rescue, MCP turns PO relay ON, allowing the technician to perform rescue even without confirmation of P28. So,
this operation requires extreme care from the field technician.

End Manual Rescue (Applies to elevators with the Integrated Rescue system (movement based in load unbalance), first used in the CT M29)
W254
Manual Rescue is completed successfully, i. e., the elevator moved to the center of a leveling plate, stopped and opened the door, releasing the passengers.

Manual Rescue aborted (Applies to elevators with the Integrated Rescue system (movement based in load unbalance), first used in the CT M29)
W255 Manual Rescue has been interrupted by a fault or because the technician turned GRE switch OFF or released BRE button. The cause of this interruption can be
checked opening the additional screens in the fault history related to this warning.
