INTERACTIVE creators Danny Orleans and Mike O’Donnell, along with Bakore Magic welcome
you to INTERACTIVE, a new touch of magic. We know your audiences will have fun participating
in these colorful, interactive, magical experiences.

Danny Orleans created the acronym WITCH’S CAP for the phrase “Written instructions that
control how spectators choose a prediction.” It first appeared in an article that was published in
the February 2010 issue of Genii Magazine. The article summarized the contents of a book he
authored published by Chronicle called Magic
Scratchers. The book contained 40 interactive pages in
which the spectator would scratch off a prediction after
following a set of instructions pertaining to an
illustration on the page.
Interactives in which a spectator’s choice is controlled
remotely – by written words in a book or verbal
instructions on a video or TV show, or an internet
based magic trick, have been explored and created my
many magicians. Names in mathematics and magic
associated with these creations include Royal Heath, Martin Gardner, Mel Stover, Karl Fulves,
Martin Kruskal, William Simon, Jim Steinmeyer, Arthur Benjamin, Robert Neale and of course
Max Maven. Max single-handedly brought these “Mindgames” to the public in his video and
national television appearances in the 1980s and ‘90s.
While writing Magic Scratchers, Danny Orleans discovered that the Witch’s Cap Force could be
used with dozens of objects lined up in rows
and columns. The key was using color as the
differentiator and telling the spectator to
“move to the closest red.” (or green or blue).
Soon Orleans realized that the objects could be
overlapped and arranged as a collage. This
added greatly to deception of the magic trick.
Fast forward to the pandemic and rise of virtual
magic. Orleans, in partnership with Chicago
