Preliminary Activity
INTRODUCTION
The Field Study Program allows you, the prospective teachers to experience
directly or vicariously classroom teachings before you finally go to the field to teach.
The field experience also gives you an over-all view of what to expect, especially with
regard to the implementation of the curriculum.
The Field Study Program draws its rationale from the National Competency -
based Teacher Standards (NCBTS) as contained in Commission on Higher Education
(CHED) Memorandum Order, No. 30, s 2004. This issuance necessitated an
examination and enrichment of the Teacher Education Curriculum, an important feature
of which is the inclusion of Field Study Program
The Field Study Program provided for outcome-based experiential tasks, such
that you, the prospective teachers or pre-service teachers go through increasing
opportunities for experience, - photographs, illustrations, organizers, songs, rhymes,
acronyms and the like from simple awareness, participation, identification and ultimately
internalization and dissemination or sharing of one’s learnings,
Since we are in Distance Learning Mode we will make use of Modular and Online
learning. It is unfortunate that you cannot go on field or experience immersion to the real
school environment. We will resort to other means of gaining learnings through online
interviews with school teachers, students, personnel and parents, watching videos of
teaching learning experiences, researching on teaching standards and more.
Field Study is more of gaining experiences on the different concepts you learned
from First to Third year of studying the BEED Curriculum. It is understood that all these
concepts are all in your mind. For every week in Field study, I will give you different
episodes that you will consider in making your output that include the following titles:
