Boom! The crack of the bat from a Texas Ranger game-winning homerun sounded like thunder
filling the sky. I could not believe that Beau “Boomer” Boshek was playing major league baseball
in our hometown. The crowd roared with cheers, chanting his nickname, “Boomer.” If they only
knew the struggle I had in deciding which team to cheer for. I was a native Texan and Ranger
fan through and through, but having the chance to watch several past students on both teams
compete was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I needed to run to the concession stand to get a
coconut cotton candy, but Dulce grabbed my arm shouting, “Hold your horses! It’s Izaiah!”
Izaiah was up to bat next, and I just knew it was going to be another big hit because he had just

they had all been up to. Macie was coaching volleyball at her alma mater, TCU. Gage and
Amilia went in to business together forming a fancy pet grooming salon. Only celebrities can
afford to send their pets there. It is the bee’s knees. Zach and Colton work on Wall Street
making a bazillion dollars a year. Ryan and Iason formed an online slang dictionary company.
They are loathed by all teachers for teaching young students annoying sayings like, “Let’s Go!”
and “Noob.” I cannot wait to see more past students next week at the Wood Wildcat Wacky
reunion; Addison is putting it all together. I heard her party-planning business is super
successful.
