ASSESSMENT 3

I. Given the function, determine whether the function is continuous at a given x.

P(x) = 4 + 23 + 92 at:

1. x=3

2. x=4

3, x= 5

4. x= -2

5 x= -10

II. Evaluate whether the given function is continuous or not. If the function is
continuous, Draw a heart beside the number, and an x if the function is discontinuous.

1. f(x) = 3 + 52 + 3 + 2 at x=3

2. B(z) = 93 + 3 + 2 at z=4
2+2+3
3. f(x) = +2
at x=3

III. Answer the following questions.

1. Wanda is contemplating whether the function that she was assigned to was
continuous or not. If you were Wanda, when can you say that a certain function is
continuous?

2. If the function assigned to Wanda was f(x) = + + − at x=3. Do you
think the function was continuous? Explain.
