RELATED PROJECTS
First conceived in 2012 by tesla and speceX
founder,ELON MUSK.
A high speed train that promises travel twice
the speed of commercial aircrafts and trains.
An elevated , reduced -pressure tube that
contains pressurized capsule driven within
tube by number of linear electric motors.
It can achieve average speed of 598mph and
top speed at 760mph.
A hyperloop consists of low pressure tube
with capsule that are transported at both
low and high speed throughout the length
of tube.
To slow down the conventional vehicles
two factors are involved FRICTION and
AIR RESISTENCE.
1) Capsule
2) Tube
3) Propulsion
4) Route
capsule
A sealed capsule contains 28 passengers , the
maximum width is 1.35m and 1.10m height
with rounded corners 1.4m per sq with frontal
area.
Capsule are accelerated via magnetic linear
accerlated affixed at various station on low
pressure tube with rotors contained in each
capsule.
Tube
Tube is made of steel. Two tubes will e welded
together in side by side configuration to allow
the capsule in both direction.
Pylon are placed at 30m to support the tube.
Solar arrays to cover top of tube in order to
provide power to the system.
Tube cross sectional area is 3.92m per sq.
propulsion
Linear accerlators are are contracted along the
length of tube at various locations to accelerate
capsule.
Stators are located on capsule to transfer
momentum to capsule via linear accelerators.
Route
There will be station at los angles and san
Francisco . Several stations along the way will
be possible with splits in the tube.
The majority of tube will follow highways and
tube will be constructed in median.
The Hyper loop system consists of sealed and
partially evacuated tubes, connecting mobility
hubs in large metropolitan areas, and
pressurized vehicles, usually called pods,
which can move at very high speeds,
contactless levitation and propulsion systems
as well as to the low aerodynamic drag.
Travel with supersonic speed to minimize time
up to hours to minutes.
❑ Inexpensive
No pollution as it use electricity as a fuel. So its
environmentally friendly.
Runs through median of existing highways.
It is immune to bad weather conditions
❑ It is resistant to earthquakes.
❑ It is safe mode of transportation system.
❖ High speed of capsule (almost at speed of sound) may
cause dizziness to the passengers travelling due to
vibration and jostling.
❖
Initial cost of investment to have the system in place is
very high. The long vacuum chamber manufacturing
requires more technical skills. Moreover this is costly
and also risky to maintain.
❖ Land use rights will be concern for deployment of
the project.
It has very high risk to life when something wrong
happens to the system.
It has limited space in the train and hence people can
not move freely.
As hyper loop uses steel for track, it expands
and changes shape when outside temperature
is changed. This may destroy the track of hyper
loop technology. This needs to be considered
while designing the system based on
environment of the location where it is being
deployed.
VIRGIN HYPERLOOP ONE
It has trialed its first ever journey with
passengers, in the desert of Nevada. The
futuristic transport concept involves pods
inside vacuum tubes carrying passengers at
high speeds Nov 9, 2020.
It can transport over 50,000 passengers per
hour per direction. High Speed Switching.
Pods are able to break from the convoy and
continue to their destination via high-speed
switching.
