SERVER VERSION

This HowTo will explain how to correctly install the Matrikon OPC Simulation Server
on your system. AUTHOR

1. First install the program


1. Run the MatrikonOPCSimulation.Exe setup program. NUMBER OF PAGES

2. Next configure the program
1. Start, All Programs, MatrikonOPC, Simulation, Matrikon OPC Server for

2. Select View, Options (Figure 2).

3. Define (or select) the Load Configuration on Startup file name.


4. Press OK.
5. Select File, Open and select c:\xlr\metering.xml.
6. Select File, Save.
7. Close the program (File, Exit).

Test OPC Simulation server


Now test the Matrikon OPC Simulation Server as follows:

1. Start All Programs, Matrikon Explorer (Figure 3).

2. Right-click on Matrikon.OPC.Simulation.1 and select Connect.


3. Right-click on Matrikon.OPC.Simulation.1 and select Add Group.
4. Type in a name (does not matter what name).

5. Right-click on the new group and select Add items (Figure 4).

6. Select Configured Aliases.


7. Selected ReadOnly.
8. All items should now appear in the ‘Available tags’ section.
9. Right-click on any of these tags and select Add all items to taglist.
10. Press the red/green cross on the top left side.
11. This Closes the dialog and shows all tags on the main window.
12. To test the link with the DCS, you can write to a tag by right-clicking it and select Write values.
