Enrichment Activity:
1. What different VALUES have your religion instilled in you? Give 3 VALUES and explain
each.
The main values that Christianity implanted in me are generosity, love, and hope.
The central value of being kind and selfless is generosity. From a young, we were told
that all human beings are brothers and sisters, all are the children of God. Any social identity
does not matter as we are all equal in the eyes of God. Therefore, I must do what I need to be of
assistance to my people whenever they need help. I must put others before myself, and the rest
will follow. Choosing who to help and who to not help is against and the opposite of the
teachings of God because they are those who are fueled by greed and power. St. Vincent de Paul
is a patron saint of the poor and he embodies the value of generosity. He always dedicated

himself towards the vulnerable even if he, himself, has nothing.

Love is a core value of who God is, and also a characterization of His children. The main

purpose of our lives from God to love and to be loved. Love serves as the leading foundation of
our lives and is centered upon it. By the power of God’s love for us, anything is possible and can

be attained. Love is what powers us all. In return, we gift our unending love for God by
ou urc
genuinely loving our neighbors without expecting anything. This love can be shown through
care, support, aid, and the like. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he
said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and
o

with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall

love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the

Prophets,” taken from Matthew 22:36-40, ESV.

Lastly, the essence of hope is optimism with confidence. It’s the compelling assurance
from God that everything is according to His plan. When we are being tested by struggles and
difficulties, He never misses an opportunity to give us hope. Hope drives us to fight through the

obstacles of life. There is also a new beginning every day, marked by the sunrise, that affirms

that anything unfavorable now, will be gone tomorrow through God’s grace and love. Hope is a
daily reminder that He is continuously guiding us and never leaving us out of His sight. There is,
and there will always be hope.

2. What various guiding principles which may have been influenced by your religion do you
adhere to in your life? Give 2 guiding principles and explain each.
The focal guiding principles that I live through and have a great impact on my life are ‘let
love be the ruling principle of your life,’ and ‘learn the secret of prayer.’
sh

This principle of love, which reflects God’s priority and others’ priorities, cuts through
our search for subjective wealth and power. Love conquers all. Love is the leading center of my
life because it enables me to do many great things in life. One of which is that I can empathize
and relate with other people by putting myself in their shoes, and understanding them in the
process. When I do such, I can know how to cater to their needs so that I can do my best in

helping them with their struggles. Another is that I appreciate all of God’s creations. I believe
that all lives are a precious gift of God, thus making life irreplaceable in this material world. We
have no right to take lives away because only God has the divine power to judge us, and our sins.
To love is our nature, an instinct even from birth.
Praying with an honest heart is one of the best means of communication with God. I
admit that I’m unable to attend the holy mass, especially with the ongoing pandemic, however, I
redeem myself through the power of prayers. When I was in junior high school, I seldomly pray
and I felt that I was getting astray further away from God. This changed when my EsP teacher,
Ma’am Rona, inspired me to return to Him, so I did. I never felt more than relieved before. In the
present time, I pray now and then to offer my thanks for every blessing that I received from
God’s everlasting love. Through prayers, I strengthen my faith and love towards God. We can
receive more enlightenment and illumination only by praying amid the Words of God. Our
prayer can only be effective when we pray truly, and our relationship with God will be closer and
closer.

Reflection:

co
1. Do you agree that the universe is designed and created by a single divine being or God?

eH w
Yes or No. Explain your answer in 2- 3 sentences only.
Yes, because every life is interconnected with one another. Every event and occurrence

seems to fall perfectly in place as if someone designed it to be that way so that there will always

be order and balance within the universe. The connection we have with one another, may it be a
living or non-living thing, is beyond describable, which only explains that there is God.

2. How can you lead a spiritual life? Cite at least three examples?
aC s

• Focus on one’s self. Start by letting go of one’s undesirable intent.

vi y re

• Meditate, contemplate and reflect on one’s actions to develop self-realization within

one’s self.
• Get rid of unnecessary egos such as greed and hunger by allowing the Spirit to lead.
• Grow through good, positivity, and light.

• Let the soul uncover itself and accept the unknown in its own time.
