1 PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to establish maximum level of acceptable quality. It


covers the general requirement for handling of material workmanship and also field
installation of:

a) New workstation for Process Engineering Department office located at


MWB802

2 PROCEDURE

2.1 Preparation of equipment, materials, and manpower


a) Inspect all equipment and material at workshop by Turcomp Quality Control, before
mobilization to site.
b) Prepare service order and PIC safety induction for manpower with assistance by
Owner.
c) Conduct toolbox talk which covers the JHA contents and PTW conditions to the
workers e.g. on the hazards, procedures.
d) Equipment and tools inspection by Owner.

2.2 Installation of Office Workstation (Site Works)


a) To obtain all permit for the work.
b) To remove existing obstruction on floor
c) Take final measurement for office workstation (working desk, drawer, etc.)
d) To lay new cable and install individual 1 gang switch socket outlet
e) To install 45 units of new custom made office desk complete with drawer
f) To install individual switch socket outlet for each of the office desk
g) To perform electrical termination by electrician
h) Perform daily housekeeping right after job completion

2.3 Inspection

a) Owner and Contractor must inspect site condition once job completed. To decide
any rectification/final adjustment required.
b) Contractor will prepare job completion report and shall be acknowledged by Owner

2.4 Manpower, Machinery and Equipment


a) A full-time experience personnel well verse and familiar with the installation method
shall be engaged for the whole duration of the contract. The full team site personnel
as follows:
1. Supervisor
2. Fitter/ Carpenter
3. Electrician
4. General Workers

b) Keep all equipment, tools and machinery well maintained in serviceable conditions
at all times for the period of the durations of the works on site. The list is as follows:

4 HOUSEKEEPING

1) Good housekeeping is the key to accident prevention and industrial safety.


2) The practice of good housekeeping and sanitary are among the most important
safety measures to eliminate injuries, illness, accidents and fires.
3) It is the responsibility of every employee to keep the work area clean, orderly and
sanitary conditions.
4) All employees should observe the following rules:
a) Firefighting equipment shall be easy to excess and should not be
obstructed.
b) All services hoses should be deposited in its designated bin/containers
c) Do not litter at the work site or fabrication workshops.
d) All goods and personnel belongings should be stacked or hanged
properly in the suitable area.

e) Clean up the work area before starting work and also after finish of the
works for every working day.

5 SAFETY ASPECT

5.1 General

a) Apply permit before proceed work.


b) Observed permit requirement strictly with JHA, JMS and related document.
c) Ensure all relevant JHA for the intended work are available as attachment to Start
Card.
d) Brief all personnel on intended work and JHA content by work leader. JHA
compliance verification shall be done prior commencement of work.
e) Wear approved and appropriate PPE at all times.
f) Brief all personnel on site safety regulation prior commencement of work. Observe
and follow safety aspects strictly in accordance to approved JHA.
g) “Safety First” is the Site’s Safety Policy which must be given top priority in the
execution of all work activities.
h) Monitor and measure “Safety is measurable” Safety Performance and compliance
level and take corrective and demerit actions.

5.2 Personnel Conduct

The employee is responsible to perform his duty in a safe manner, observing the
following requirements.

a) Learn the approved safe practices applicable to work and observe them at all
times.
b) Maintain an active interest in the safety program. Give your undivided attention to
on-the-job safety discussions which your supervisor may introduce from time to
time prepare you for new assignment.
c) Report promptly to your supervisor any injury you sustain while at work, no matter
how slight you may consider the injury to be. Also report all "Near Misses".

i) Be careful in walking or moving about the work area so as to avoid slipping,


tripping or falling. Do not run when performing work under normal circumstances.
j) Beware of falling objects. Always keep feet in the clear and handle materials with
care.
k) Never leave tools of other materials on scaffolds or other elevations where they
may become dislodged and fall.
l) Never throw tools, materials or equipment up or down working level to another
such articles shall be set up or done by a hand line or by some other safe
practical method.
m) Avoid walking and working under suspended loads. When it is necessary to
perform work under load raised on jacks or suspended hoisting equipment, load
should be blocked.

5.3 Environment

Execute all works in accordance with project EHS Plan and procedures in order to
meet the requirement from Owner

5.4 Safety Regulatory

Safety means taking precautions before an accident occurs. Personal protective


equipment is a safeguard against job hazards. The followings are the safety measures
to be followed: -

5.4.1 Safety Equipment

1. To wear approved type safety glasses.

2. To wear approved type hard hats.

3. Use face guards in all operation such as drilling, site welding and handling acid
etc. (if works required at site).

4. Respirators of the approved type must be worn in toxic area.

5. For special hazards, wear plastic coated or rubber gloves when working acids,
solvents, cement, etc.

6. Use full body harness with shock observer when no form of protection against
falling is available.

7. Wear safety boots at all times.

5.4.2 Tools and Equipment

1. Use the right tools and never use hand tools for the purpose other than that for
which they were intended. Never use makeshift devices or tools.

2. Never use damaged tools, frayed or defective electric cords and unguarded
machinery.

3. Secure and guard all tools, equipment, or materials so that no one will be
endangered by gear, belts, or other moving parts of the machinery.

4. Do not wear gloves, loose or torn clothing around moving parts of machinery.

5. Shut down machinery and use extreme caution when cleaning or making
adjustment.

6. All fuel powered motors must be shut down before refuelling. Only approved
safety cans or refuelling equipment shall be used refuel.

7. The use of gasoline as cleaning solvent is strictly forbidden. An approved


slacking solvent must be used to clean tools, machinery, and similar equipment.

8. Be sure the machine is inoperable before removing safety guards when making
repairs or adjustment.

9. Prevent others from starting up equipment on which you are working by posting
warning signs and locking switch boxes.

10. Never use power equipment beyond its rated capacity. This also pertains to rope,
cables, chains, hooks, etc.

11. Report all frayed, broken strands and other defect on wire rope or slings direct to
supervisor.

12. Remedy or report all unsafe conditions and equipment direct to supervisor.
