Introduction To For It & Non-It Professionals: Artificial Intelligence

The document discusses different types of robots, including mobile robots that can move from place to place either by rolling or walking. It also describes autonomous robots that are self-supported and use artificial intelligence to decide actions based on their surroundings. Finally, it discusses remote controlled robots that can perform dangerous tasks remotely under human guidance.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
FOR IT & NON-IT PROFESSIONALS
TYPES OF ROBOTS
TYPES OF ROBOTS

• Mobile Robots
• can move from one location to another location using locomotion
• an automatic machine that can navigate an uncontrolled
environment
• Two types of Mobile Robots:
• Rolling robots
• Walking robots

TYPES OF ROBOTS - AUTONOMOUS
ROBOTS:
• Autonomous Robots:
• are self-supported
• use a program to decide the action to perform depending on their
surroundings
• Using artificial intelligence these robots often learn new behavior
• start with a short routine and adapt this routine to be more
successful in a task they perform
TYPES OF ROBOTS - AUTONOMOUS

TYPES OF ROBOTS - REMOTE
CONTROLLED ROBOTS
• Remote Controlled Robots:
• used for performing complicated and undetermined tasks that
autonomous robot cannot perform due to uncertainty of operation
• a person can guide a robot by using remote
• using remote controlled operation human can perform dangerous
tasks without being at the spot where the tasks are performed
