ACCESS POINT

Description: Wireless access point or WAP is networking device which allows to


connect wireless devices to a wired network. It is easier and simple to install and connect all
devices. An access point connects to a wired router, switch, or hub via an Ethernet cable, and
projects a Wi-Fi signal to a designated area. According to CISCO.

Importance: The importance of WAP is to connect and all devices into wireless not just
wire. It is easy to access internet by wireless and no need for wires just to connect to internet. It
will also lessen the uses of cables for connection. access points give you the freedom to scale the
number of devices supported on your network which is convenient for business or organizations.

Uses and Function: Wireless access point or WAP function and uses is to extend
the connection from a certain place. It is very convenient because you can access internet thru
wireless and it is very applicable when it comes big business and organization.
