COVID -19 pandemic is the global health crisis and the greatest challenge that

the world is currently facing today. It became a big problem to all sectors, including
education. We can’t go to school, listen to our teachers discuss the lesson one by one,
and interact with other students now that we’re on global pandemic and social
distancing is strictly implemented. For schools, teachers, students and parents, this can
be so devastating. We can’t go back to our normal lives that easily, but we can’t also let
those stop doing what we used to. Due to the situation, we had to adjust something in
our system to make it favorable at this moment. That’s when we had this so-called,
“new normal.”

Blending learning became a solution; it is a combination of online and offline

methodologies and the students and school may decide to what’s more accessible and
somewhat convenient in their situation. I had chosen modular set-up but of course, this
won’t be that easy or at least at first.

Just like what I stated, before the pandemic we got used to face to face learning
wherein our teacher can discuss the lesson in front of us. But now that we’re in this
“new normal”, I need to do a lot of adjustments. To be honest, it’s quite hard. As I read
the modules I had, there’s always a part of me who’s still seeking for additional
information regarding the lesson. If it was before, I could just raise my hand or approach
my teacher about it. But now, I can’t.

Adjusting in my studying space is also a problem. We are answering our modules

at home, but it’s hard to study when there’s a lot of distractions. We also had
responsibilities at our respective homes to begin with, so there are some interruptions
while studying. There’s always a line between studying and personal lives but it seems
like those lines is getting thinner in this situation.

All of us are having a hard time, all of us are coping up, all of us are adjusting, so
there’s no one to blame. Honestly, there will always be a challenge because we’re not
used to this but I find some ways to overcome those.

Whenever I seek for additional guide on the lessons, I’m watching YouTube
videos to catch up. There are lots of educational videos on that app that offers a better
explanation in every lesson. These helped me a lot. As for my studying place, I did all
my assigned household chores as early as possible. Then when I’m done, I’ll tell all my
family members that I needed some time alone to get my modules done. Fortunately,
they seem to understand me and they let me have my space. Although there are still
some discrepancies due to some unexpected situations within the family but still, things
are getting a lot way better than before.

Despite of so many hardships and difficulties, this must go on. I had a lot of
dreams to achieve. I want to get into this and get into the next step of my life. I also
think of my parent’s hardship just to give me a good education. I want to repay those by
studying hard. Those aspects are the reason why I still keep on going despite all these
struggles.

But of course, I can’t do this all alone. In my way of facing those struggles while
studying, I had many special people with me. Exchanging such small talks and dialogue
helped me a lot. Most of my friends are far away from me. Communication through
social media really helped me a lot in this. Talking to them also help me cope up with
the anxious feeling I’ve got during this hard times. I couldn’t be more thankful.

Due to social distancing and quarantine, different media became a medium; it

enabled us to come together and stay connected in this distant set up. With the help of
communication, we can cope up with things with the help of each other. I can get
through this new normal. We can get through this.
